Hehe, well we'll see. You could toy around with it, when it's rigged I guess =p
Here's my attempt. I like it. My only concern is it might be mistaken for rust

Really like the helmet!
Only now the Erebor one looks much more detailed then the Iron Hills slodiers, not that it shouldn't but it does look like the Erebor guy had much more care than the IH one.

Glad you like it =)
Here's the final product, without fancy zBrush shaders and in low poly. Well "low". Helmet is 700 and body 1300 polys. Not ideal, but these will be limited to probably 4 hordes in game. Quite happy with the UV layout for once too. (Bolg's UV is the worst yet, so I'll have to redo that one). Atm helmet is using 2048 pix texture and body 4096. Obviously I will scale that in Photoshop down to 512 for helmet and 1024 for body, so some further details will be lost
As for gear, I will do a shield to match, but for weapons I hope I'm still welcome to use NewErr's models for hammer, spear and sword, as I really don't like making weapons, and I see no point as they would fit nicely

This is exceptional work, Naz. The only criticism I'd make is that you're losing a lot of UV space by making the gaps between the islands so big. On the other hand, it looks great regardless

I guess you have a point there Irene. By making them tighter, I would gain a litte more room for each island, or some of them yes. Unfortunately, my UV client doesn't allow editing of already made islands.

I do see a lot of inspiration of the texture from my model tho...

NewErr, I would use you as my primary source anyday. =D

You have always been an inspiration for modeling as it is, NE =)
And you guys also motivated me to roll back a bit on the IH guy and repaint the helmet, as well as add more shading to the armor...

Unfortunately, my UV client doesn't allow editing of already made islands.
ZBrush can import UV sets. In this case, it's not terribly important, but for future reference, if you export the model to 3DS Max with ZBrush's GoZ function before you start to paint it, Max can pack the UVs very nicely, and you can play around with them if you're not keen on their layout.
That or edit inside ZBrush, which seems a little fiddly to me.

I don't use Max. I can edit the UV made in "UV Layout", in zB, but that means I have to redo the texture projection from high poly to low poly. Not sure it's worth it as there's not THAT much space to gain =/

Nah, ZBrush automatically projects it apparently (I haven't tested it myself yet).

In that case I don't know how, cause when I tested and scaled the islands, they mismatched on the 3D mesh.
