Historically there is no army that used only one type of troops; scouts, heavy infantry/cavalry, light infantry/cavalry, archers, all had their specific roles that were needed to win a battle. Rivendell and Lorien wouldn't be any different, so lightly armoured troops for Rivendell and heavy armoured troops for Lothlorien makes perfect sense.

As for ambushes it's absolutely not true that Rivendell wouldn't utilise that tactic; if they had the opportunity they would gladly take it, since a succesfull ambush decreases the chance of casualties. Lothlorien fights speedy and via ambushes only when they defend their borders. Do you think they can use the same tactic if they decide to go full offensive, and end up in a open 1v1 battlefield? I don't think so.

The Rivendell buildings are very impressive, I really like that you can easily differentiate between Lothlórien and Imladris :D Well done indeed!

Misty Mountains Showcase & Sneak Peeks

Today, the AotR team presents the Misty Mountains Showcase & Sneak Peeks of the week. Concerning several new features of the mod and the forces of the Misty Mountains. First of which, is the new Create A Hero: Berserker, Who's abilities and stats will be based off of the vanilla Troll CaH.

Create-A-Berserker-02.jpg  dwarfbane.jpg

Along with that, we have some awesome Gundabad Warg Riders and Muzgash leading the hordes of the Misty Mountains through NJM's wicked Cisterns of Moria map.

Perhaps a quite late reaction, but I find Círdan's model really fascinating. It is probably my favourite so far. I like every single bit of it, from the sword to the robes (whose motives remind me of something sea-related). Modding goals indeed! Wonderful art, as usual.
