Hey, guys!

 

I figured we could do the same and make this thread to post sound bites the Age of the Ring team could find useful (Both to things that are still not implemented and things you believe could be improved).

 

Important things to observe when cutting sound bites from the films:

-Avoid noise and music on the background. If not completely, at least barely noticeable. A possible exception is if the sound is meant for a power, like "Du Bekar".

-Try to smoothen the edges, so the beggining and the end don't sound weird.

Some useful things in there... how would we go about downloading them? I'm not familiar with Soundcloud and in my quick looking I didn't see a download option.

First go to "tracks", then open the dropdown menu by clicking on "..." (under each file, not top right). Download button should be there.

 

The uploader has to allow the download of files for it to show, though. Lord Dain Ironfoot did not.

Hi! I found a better sound for the 'I will not part with a single coin' from the Hobbit behind the scenes. There isn't background music like in the movie. Although there is a bit noise, but I can't remove it.

Odo, if you could cut all of the Dain, Bard, Dwalin, Balin, Fili, Kili etc. lines from BotFA and DoS, I would be eternally grateful. 

 

And if you could then provide them in a .rar file uploaded on Mega or wherever, I would be even happier (because every minute of time saved I need).

I'm halfway done with it, BotFA is ready.

Sure, I'll do that, but I'll also keep uploading them to soundcloud, so the comunity can check them out and replace some lines if they find better quality ones or manage to edit them better.

Edit: You may want to use a different fileshare website, by the way. 4shared is ridiculously slow. What about Mega?

There aren't too much Thorin sounds, so I've cutted some -hopefully useful-BOTFA lines (including some dragon sickness lines) for him. I will cut from the Unexpected journey and the Desolation of Smaug too, and maybe for other characters. ( It requires less time than photo retouching)

I'm having a busy week, but I think I'll finish cutting AUJ this weekend and upload everything (including what is already on 4shared and some more of BotFA I cut after uploading) to mega by sunday night.
