Hi,

A very long time ago i used to be a modder for tiberian sun and RA2 yuri's revenge.

My most fun experiences where playing with the map editor in the single player mode.

Now i wanted to try and start mapping/modding again with single player maps.

But is there a way to run them in mental omega?

I have only found a way to run muliplayer maps.

Thanks in advance,

Matthy

There is, but that requires editing BattleClient.ini

thx i looked over that one, checked other ini files but not that one.

Also i read that you need a special version of the FinalAlert editor that also reads expandMO.mix files.

But i can't find it, does anyone have a link?

Patch 3.3.3 supposes to have Final Alert that works with Mental Omega and its assets in editor, so you should be able to make maps of all kind once its out.

you can already make the 2 types of maps (Singleplayer and multiplayer for Skirmish/Co-op/challenge) in vanilla Final Alert.

Q: Is FinalAlert 2 map editor compatible with Mental Omega 3.3?
A: Not yet.

Do the mentalmeisters have a internal build of finalalert?

You will need to break into the maps and edit it with notepad to replace things with MO stuff. That or you can try opening the mix files, which is protected (hence why FinalAlert won't read it under normal circumstances) and I cannot share you any method to circumvent it.

And yes they do.

the protection on the mixes is the thing that stops final alert from accessing MO's assets, besides just "enabling mod support and disks" is not the only thing you have to do, if it was that easy you'd think the Mental Meisters would've already made Final Omega a long time ago.

Yeah so the crew either works with a modified final alert, or final alert works with successfully decrypted mix files or even both!

I guess ill wait before 3.3.3 is out, since ARES 1.0 is out it might be any moment! :)
