Broken squares

Does anyone know what could cause certain squares in a map to become unplayable?

 

Sometimes when creating a bottleneck, certain squares become completely broken and neither I or the AI can cross over them with a unit.

This seems to happen randomly if a lot of units are killed on a specific spot, but not always.

 

It is really annoying as it kind of ruins the prospect of a bottleneck.

Depends. Maybe that corner wasn't well connected & the Final Alert 2 map editor doesn't help in this area. Any case for checking it?

Depends. Maybe that corner wasn't well connected & the Final Alert 2 map editor doesn't help in this area. Any case for checking it?

 

The square would work fine for a time, but after a while and frustratingly randomly the square would just become 'blocked'. Couldn't even manually force a unit onto it.

This would always seem to happen in high traffic 'bottleneck' areas where my base defences were killing many enemies.
