was it ever perfected?
i was thinking about maybe building a flash/php site with news being dynamically updated from a "news" sub-forum inside our forum.
this way i can ditch the CMS all together and eliminate double posting, saving my SQL for a Gallery of some sort.

On the Revora front page and The Hive, there will be an all news section. anyone who posts a topic in there news forum will get there news on the front page and on the The Hive. Lots of advertising with just 1 post
There may be some other sites using this to. If we had a HL2 network site (like me might), your news would also appear there.
Once mastermind arrives later today, he will post more about it.

Too cute! | Server Status: If you can read this, it's up |Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

i would just like the ability to post in our forum under a news sub-forum and have that reflected dynamically on our new webpage.
i anxiously awaited MM's return.

You slap that into your page, where you want the news to show.
Then all you will have to do is make a topic in your news forum. The script will work its magic and news will appear on your site, the front page, the hive and anywhere else it is relevent.

include ("http://forums.revora.net/news/382.php");
And that one works, but it hasn't updated yet since I posted more news in the forum a few weeks ago.

A file named template.html, that will be how you want each news post to appear. You can find an example at http://forums.revora...e/template.html . A file articles.txt with a single integer containing the number of posts you want exported, and, if you have an existing forum, the number of that forum, or the name and description of the new forum you want for news.
A few notes on this: The new script dynamically updates your news whenever you post a topic. It also can handle editing of posts. However, it does not support deletion of posts, unless a admin goes in and manually does it. If you are very nice to me, I will provide support for that, until I write a front end for you to do it yourself.
One more thing: You can view what the output looks like by going to http://forums.revora...ws/news/211.php, and compare it to the post in the Defcon News forum. This script also supports smilies, which was one of the biggest feature requests.
This is turning into one big post: You will need to post all new news for your new script, as this script does not support getting the old news from the forum. Sorry about the inconvenience, but it's incompatible with the script the way that would require to do that.

Forum name, description, moderators?
I think all the stuff Mastermind talked about should be uploaded to your site, not the forum.
