hello,
I've followed the first tutorial of creating a new faction, the basics. Now, im trying
to create a base for the elves using the third tutorial. I've encountered a few
problems:

1. In worlbuilder, i can't find any "Elves Menu" or the two items i created in the
first tutorial-Elves Building Foundation or Elves Camp Keep. I might be ok
with adding an elven faction however because there is already an Elven Buillding
Foundation in Gondor buildings. I used the Gondor Citadel in place of the elves
keep.
2. Despite the problem in #1, I was able to create a castle. I went to [Save As,
Bases, and entered castle_elves] I get an error saying : Could not create directory
Bases/castle_elves.

Please help.

I think my problem is solved now. I was editing my mod, not the actual game
files, so it wouldn't show up in worldbuilder. It does now. ;)

did you extract all the original .bse files to a Bases directory inside the main BFME directory?

Try renaming the files in Windows as Whatever.bse and see if that works.

Where exactly do you put the base files so they show up under bases in worlbuilder? I put the bases folder in My Battle for Middle Earth files.

C:\...........\The Battle For Middle-Earth\bases
That "The Battle For Middle-Earth" Directory is the one where all your .big files are located, not in My Documents.

Well, i got the file working now. But now im stuck with the Hex editing. Is castle_elves supposed to show up in the hex editor in the text box? how do you edit it? What exactly is the 60th character? This really is hard.

If you use the hex editor from the site, when you open the base file it should be like the 4th row down or something. You can change the value by typing it in on the right and saving the file.

Try by opening up an existing base file and look to see how it looks first.

Alright, one final question-
My mod uses a mod launcher (like First Age or Epic Warfare) so i dont actually
edit any of the original files while im using my mod. How do i add my new base to
the game? I tried adding it to my mod INI file, but i still instantly die when the game starts.

Sorry, I don't use mod launchers cause I don't use other peoples mods. Have to wait for someone else. or ask another forum.
