That would be a cool plane to have. Maybe an early version of the Switchblade or something. It is actually a fighter from Ace Combat 4, but oh well. I vote for a cheaper, more fighter-oriented version than the full Switchblade.

Names: YF-25, X-02

It is spiffy looking.

I think its designation would not be YF-25, but some number past 35. American planes are designated in numerical order in which they were developed. The Joint Strike Fighter's designation is F-35, and the JSF does not look anywhere near as advanced as this is. Agreed? I think a cool nickname would be the 'Vulture'.

Based off reality. Continuity wouldn't hurt.

Your idea, your plane, your pick, my friend.

I am quite fond of 69, though.

Would it be better to have it only a few numbers higher than modern or could we go up to 315? If not I like 39.

47 sounds good to me.

However, don't forget: not all planes used by the AF go in that order. Just look at the F-117 or F-111. F-4 is a good example of a low number, too.

F-4 was one of the first in the new designation system.

F-111 was designated before the system took place in the late 60s.

The 117 was a blackops program, so we can only speculate on the whys of its nomenclature. After all, it is called a Fighter, but it most certainly is not.
