It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

Speaking of music, Rise Against is coming to Seattle...however, I doubt my parents will let me drive by myself for seven or eight hours just to see a concert

Then find someone to go see them with, a gig buddy. Preferably one who lives in Seattle. Interestingly, Rise Against came on with the random play all function on my media player just as I opened this thread. They are awesome and put on a damn good show. If you can, I would recommend going to see them, even if it means going out of your way. Are the Flobots still supporting them?

@ Vort: It's not that I don't have friend's who'd like to see them, it's that I'll have just gotten my driver's license when they're there, and my parents would not allow me to drive that far with so little experience. It might have something to do with my brother totalling his first truck when he was sixteen, and my friend's older brother (and incidentally my older brother's friend)'s death in a car wreck when he was nineteen. And I can guarantee that my parents would not drive for eight or nine hours just so I can see a concert.

Damn fine plan, that's what I did. Hey, go to New York or somewhere else eastern sea board-ish so I can come stay with you and go see Breaking Benjamin. 
Also, I had my first crash two days after getting my full licence. Skidded across an icy level crossing (where the train track crosses the road) and went flying off the road and into a sign. Fortunately I, my passenger and my car were all basically unhurt.
