Hurricane Rita

I live in houston, texas, so the hurricane is the hot topic of the week here. At the very least i'll probably get some heavy flooding + power outage. On the good side, school has been canceled for the rest of the week (thurs & fri). Just wondering if anyone else here might be affected by the storm...

let's hope the US government took all the necessary lessons from Katrina, and plans a perfect evacutation if needed to
it should all be over by saturday if i read well.
got a friend in Houston, so i seriously hope they won't screw up this time ...

Well, you'll have even more people evacuating this time, because you have all the hurricane Katrina victims that went to Texas, and the Tcitizens of Texas evacuating. And my cousin used to live in El Paso, Texas.
Off topic, slightly: My family just moves a lot. State to state, country to country, continent to continent. Most I ever lived anywhere was for four years. Least was 3 months.

I live in Florida and the eyes of both hurricane Katrina and Rita passed thru our area.

well seems the hurricane really started in Houston now, my friend gave me a quick brb, and its been 45 minutes now

He most likely lost his phone connections and internet connections. I'm not surprised it always happens when there is a hurricane.
