Hey guys,

Do you know of a good free ftp site that will support large file uploads and downloads of 20 megabytes or more. Also, one that is safe from spyware, viruses, and one that won't spam my e-mail box into the next century.

Thanks.

A Raptor for U.S. Allies (excerpts from full article)
---------------------------------------------------------

Congress has a law against selling technologically advanced F-22A Raptor fighters to foreign governments.

But what about a no-frills model?

Would Congress approve, or foreign governments buy, stripped down F-22As that still fly higher and faster than other fighters, but without the software that controls their avionics and weapons systems?

U.S. Sen. John Warner (R-Va.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, thinks a foreign deal is possible.

Would Congress approve, or foreign governments buy, stripped down F-22As that still fly higher and faster than other fighters, but without the software that controls their avionics and weapons systems? ...

A stripped down, less expensive F-22A is also likely to compete with another Lockheed product --- the F-35 Lightning II. The F-35 is a stealthy, supersonic fighter, too, that is being built in Fort Worth, Texas. But with one engine instead of two, the F-35 was designed for the export market. Several U.S. allies have taken part in F-35 design, and many more are likely to buy the finished planes when they become available early in the next decade. ...

"We sell F-15s to foreign governments and they become the standard so we build F-22s," she said. "If we sell them overseas, then they'll become the standard and we'll build something else. That may be good for Lockheed --- but it's not good for U.S. taxpayers."

See full article at:
http://www.military....l?ESRC=dod-b.nl

So, what do you think? A Raptor for the allies to make some big bucks for our country, or should the U.S. not sell the Raptors because of national security interests.

I reckon you guys should keep the Raptor, myself. For us (the UK) the F-35 is gonna replace the Harrier and something else I've forgotten, both British planes, and I personally think it would be good to keep some native design in the RAF, otherwise it'll almost be like flying a mercenary army.
Besides, if we bought the F-22 it would surely replace the Eurofighter which we (and other European countries) have spent billions on, and it seems Europe are the most likely to buy planes cos we can afford it. Sort of.
As for the rest of the world, they could surely develop their own firing systems and stuff, if they tried hard enough, which would make their Raptor's the equal of yours. And that doesn't put the US in a very good position.
And heres a thing - if the supplied Raptor's had no firing controls, then surely the pilot would be left with a joystick with a conspicous hole where the fire button should be?
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.
Ever stop to think and forget to start again?
There are 10 kinds of people in this world: Those who understand binary and those who don't.
FZM and Vort don't do tag wrestling...but if they did, they'd probably be the worst tag-wrestlers in the world.

I'm sure there would be some type of weapon....
(a high powered squirt gun attachment  )

This would be good but what if the other countries decide to put their own avionics nd stuff back in? (ie: stolen raptor technology, UFO technology....etc) would that still be against the raptor law?

My Dream Come True

Dear Friends,

For the last three years, we've worked incessantly to bring you the best Halo mod that we could. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but somehow Halogen has always managed to come out kicking. The problem with using copyrighted intellectual property as a base for a fan project is that you're very susceptible to legal action. We always figured that since Halogen was such a different take on the Halo franchise, we might manage to make it without incident. That changed today.

Hours ago, we finally recieved the words we've been dreading since the mod started to get noticed. Microsoft has decided that we are infringing on the intellectual property of Bungie Studios and has asked us to stop development on Halogen.

I was going to write a big sappy letter here, but what's the point. So..that's it then, I guess. The forums, site, and Moddb profile will all be shut down within the week. I can't say it hasn't been fun. It's a shame it has to end like this, but I suppose that's how it goes. Thanks, guys, for all the time you've spent supporting us. It's been a pleasure. We hate this as much as you do.

- The Halogen Team

OK sorry to inerrupt your game talk but im getting a little pissed wuth the Derelict forum guys coz i have been waiting for the Russian voice act list for more than a month now and im getting tired for waiting for it.
Last time i asked they said tha it is lost when they formated their comp. and they need to make a new one.
And my chinese moped is a piece of s*it we have made atlest 5 major rapir jobs on it this far and it is not even 0.5 years old yet. Repairs include : patching up the fuel tank leak ( it leaks still but not so bad), putting the battlery back on its place after it fell off ( now it is about to fall again), welding the silencer bak after it fell off ( it has held fo far with no prob.), patching up the punctured tire ( its ok now) ect.....

The main prob. of the moped is that it is made in china. And as you guys probably know, stuff made in china are not too long lasting.

Hi Everybody!
Hi Dr Nick!

i have been away for long, too long and now i have returned and frankly i'm gonna have to get back up to scratch with ZH (i have been meaning to get back to it but you know; Homework, reinstallation of my computer so now instead of 64-bit windows XP i now have the traditional 32-bit XP so now i can play online again and whats more... I have discovered Table top Warhammer 40k Necrons so i spent most of the week modelling the little blighters and in the process of that 2 necron warriors are casualties already, both had 1 foot snapped off when i tried too hard to remove the legs from the blister pack with a pair of pliers :( since the craft knife would take me hours just to do a few warriors, let alone my destroyers)

sooooooooooooo... To be blunt: what have i missed?
