Spence can do it as long as he does not take matters of editing the thread into his own hands, which I trust he will not do. You can merely give advice. I will force them to change it in the unlikely event that it comes to that.

I'd first like to cite Strekonia. You've got 1,000 F-15s... that's more than the United States currently has. Also, I don't think any country could afford 500 C-5s, let alone find a use for them.

Also, if you check my information thread, I spent about half an hour composing lyrics to a song in there. I don't remember who gave me the idea about three weeks ago, but I finally got around to it and it sounds fairly good. They're not in the actual audio file yet though.

Dragonly is another with 1000 battle tanks way to high for such a small nation and also about US Airways 30 ICBMS...... and Pyths needs trimming down a bit with his large navy.

Ah yeah, sorry, didn't know what you wanted to do. You might want to lower that number to around 350 or so, and the C-5s to about 60 (The US has 70 active, but a number of Hercules, so you can go ahead and up that to about 130 if you have no other utility aircraft). Also, the heavy bomber count should go down a little bit, and so should your M-1 count if you have so many T-72s (Tanks cost about $1 million each, M-1s cost $1.4).

The reason I have so many tanks is because I started with the M1's and then later bought the T-72s.

Done...better?

Usually people scrap things when they buy more, like I'm building loads of new ships but will be scrapping old ones. It saves in operating costs which would cost loads.

One thousand tanks is a few divisions.

I suggest that all current technology, numbers and so forth be FIXED HERE AND NOW. No further development, and tech LOCKED.

Yeah...but I like tanks  But seriously, would the profit be better to sell or mothball them?

I will not lock tech this early. There is still time.

During my time away tech and numbers will be locked, though.

Well seeing as none of your old tanks would have the correct interchangeable parts it would be best to sell them to someone.

Ok...Which tanks should I sell, the T-72's or M1's? Or perhaps I could dedicate one to reserve and one to active duty?

I started with 126 Challenger II tanks, but that isn't enough so I hope realistically over the next week my IC's can produce a sufficient number for defense purposes. How many a day can I build 20 perhaps? I have one Challenger II IC complete and three more under construction for some time now. Staffed and maintaind by the AU. labor performed by Casmire of course.

I have 140 F-14s, how many Mig-29s am I allowed to build per day?

I never stated how many artillary pieces I have, I assume evey nation has some. How many is fair? And what model should I have? Something fitting...

I have three Tingonderoga class cruisers, I did state I was building 8 destroyers and 12 frigates some time back also Aegis. I also have 8 refitted Salmon class subs. Not an especially large navy but fairly up to date and combat effective.

Citing pyth for godmodding again. Tried to claim he had 2,000 $40 million tanks as discussed before, and then tried to misquote me and say that I said it was fine!
We can use this thread for discussion, but that is ridiculous.

Even the agreed upon 500 was ridiculously high, the Germans fielded less Tigers in WWII and they had a full war economy for five years before the war.

Pyth-
Ali told me to take a look at your military numbers. Note that each military division includes between 11,000 and 20,000 personnel (Not all fighting capable, at least half are support, depending on the type), so if you do the numbers out on your military it ends up somewhere in the millions of people (Just 50 infantry divisions puts you over 850,000). Please take a look at the numbers and revise them per some sense of realism.

With a quick look over your division structure, that's fine, but tank numbers are very very high.
No nation of your size could ever operate 15,000 light tanks (As per 15 tank divisions, 1,000 units per division), 12,000 medium tanks, and 500 heavy tanks all at once. Armored divisions in the real world include about 200 functioning tanks and lots of support units, and tanks are extremely expensive to build and operate. You may want to bring these numbers into less ridiculous quantities, or judging on the rules stated in the info threads, they'd have to be about as competent as Pzkpfw. Ib's (light) and IIc's (med).

Before I do that, I'd like to ask what the numbers should be, given one divisio nbeing 1,000 men or tanks or whatever.

Divisions are typically 11-17,000 men depending on the type. Armored divisions tend to be fairly large with many forces allocated to keeping the division's 200-300 tanks in working order. No more than 1,200 tanks total, if they're comparable to today's MBTs. That's more than generous, the US operates about 1,300. Bring everything within reason, give total vehicle numbers which sound somewhat realistic, and I can check it all and make sure it checks out. Don't ask me to design your military, it's too much work and I'll be cutting things left and right.

O_O

So 1,000 XM-1s... and like 200 XH-1s... Ouch... Time for cuts. And military reorganization.
