the pomel is the round bit at the end of the sword, the hilt, the balancing device, call it what you will but, I had already said I would redo it.
and the handel length is ment to be that size, in real life these swords were massive, in comparason to narsil etc, narsil would be a toy. The one of the many claymores to be found intacted was about 7 foot long!, prolly more ceremonial than anything else.
