They are infact wings of light as both Destiny and Strike Freedom's propulsion systems are derived from the Stargazer.

Now If I might way in on this reactor descusion... Warning incomeing technobabble:

(from zeonic corps)Gundam_X12:
A nuclear reactor is designed in such a way that its energy is used to power its systems - there's no overflow, no excess energy stored. At max performance, 100% energy output is used. Example: in an intense combat situation, where all of the mobile suit's weapons systems are active, or when it is running at full speed.
Other example: when a warship is running full speed, 100% of its power is used to propel the ship.
But if additional strain is put on the reactor - meaning if it is asked to supply more energy than it is designed to, the reactor core will begin to overheat. the reactor will overload, and the result is a core meltdown.
It's a common misconception in the CE-fandom that nuclear reactors=infinite power.
That's not really it. a nuclear reactor in a mobile suit can power that MS's systems infinitely, but that's basically all it can handle. It's specifically designed that way.

And my explenation:

While it was stated that Destiny Gundam did posses a nuclear engine, never officially was it mentioned that the suit possesed an NJammer Cancler(i.e. still with-in the junius treaty) This means that when in a combat zone the suit would operate like a battery powered suit with the exception of the hyper capacitor being a great deal more advanced than previous "batteries". However once leaveing a battlefield (or just leaveing the presence of an NJammer) the suits Nuclear engine would be able to replenish the suits capacitor without needing to land in a mothership. This may seem odd but also note that there is no "Unsubdude" line in Destiny's operating system, While Strike Freedom's OS does.

Thats my theory at least... :D

And i buy your explanation, knowing fukudas stupidity that is something his stupid mind would come up with though considering the war had started they should have just said to hell with treaties and built the destiny in the Freedoms image.

Stargazer, this thread is the first time I've ever heard anyone say that the S. Freedom uses the Wings of light. Now, assuming that the S. Freedom is way more advanced than the Destiny, it 'could' be possible that its individual parts require less energy to run. (Kinda like hybrid cars and gasoline cars) So when he does go over the nuclear reactor's limit, it would put less strain on it.

apparently you haven't been paying attention at all just like when you said the last episode of NGE had nothing to do with the series.

ZING!

Woah, SG i wanst arguing with you or anything. I was just trying to come up with a possible explaination why destiny would hit its power limit first. Like i said, i dont really believe it either, so this is all pretty much hypothetical.

But i dont think freedom really has WoL...its just a visual effect to make it look pretty. Technical explaination? might as well throw out the window. It comes from a series where luna is allowed to have a miniskirt in her uniform and we see ramius's boobs dance every other episode. Its all made to look pretty -_-'

Except its no made by apple so there for better.

But I take it my extensive post wasn't clear enough, Trust me It has been officially stated that Strike Freedom HAS wings of light. The slight difference is Destiny's WOL are derived from Delta Astray, and Strike Freedom's are from the Stargazer.

Hope that clears this up.

This is taken directly from the Master Grade 1/100 model's manual.

Strike Freedom's golden joints is used to endure ultra-mobility beyond the limits of its design, as power is distributed across all parts, producing a luminescent effect in which light is emitted from the PS armor of the joints.

So yes S Freedom has wings of light but they are not the same as Destiny's because they dont emit mirage calloid particles.

However since none of this was ever shown in the actually show, my guess is its a bunch of bullshit added in later to make stargazer fit. But thats just me.

Chances are...

btw Today I fixed the BIGGEST nagging XML error I've had with my ground mobilesuit template. This error has been hindering me since the end of last year, FINALLY fixed it. The long and short of this means now that I have my template for a mobile suit finished I can actually start to add new suits to ground (aside from my Ginn).

So yeh! Good day for me!

if the Strike Freedom can do that bullshit pwn everything in one shot blast and not run out of power, shin pushing the destiny to the point where it runs out of power is absolutely not possible.

it's just fukuda being an idiot as per usual.

Well Shin wasnt out of power, what Rey specifically saaid was that Shin was to come back to resupply. a term more commonly used for ammunition. and when you look at it that way it makes more sense. Shinn lost his sword and his beam boomerangs. (I forgot what they're actually called >_<) which makes the Destiny almost useless in it's best field of combat, which happened to be close ranged melee. anyone who ever played OMNI vs. ZAFT 2 would agree with me. all the new gundams are Dueterium Nuclear powered, which are basically self-charging power supplies, not exactly unlimited power at one point in time.

The xml's good news man. Cant wait for that ground beta or whatever you're planning on next.

which makes the Destiny almost useless in it's best field of combat, which happened to be close ranged melee. anyone who ever played OMNI vs. ZAFT 2 would agree with me.

Actually, i see destiny as a melee/midrange hybrid. As far as im concerned tho, i. justice is better in just about every single way. Destiny has melee attks, boomerangs, charge shot, fast boost...i justice has all of that and better, and its got other stuff too. This is just my opinion tho, maybe you prefer destiny for some reason...

Strike Freedom's golden joints is used to endure ultra-mobility beyond the limits of its design, as power is distributed across all parts, producing a luminescent effect in which light is emitted from the PS armor of the joints.

But, that isnt referring to the lights sprouting out of the wing binders, its referring to the gold joints and how they seem to glow every other scene.

Continuity-wise, it makes sense that destiny's WoL is based off delta astray, and freedom's is based off stargazer. But there's a problem with that, the insane speeds that stargazer moved in the last sg ep wasnt because of the WoL, it was because of the unique design of the WoL/booster ring. SG's WoL is the solar sail, and is meant for long-term voyages. Freedom's 'wings' are therefore still unexplained, unless someone in Terminal made a new technology and slapped the 'WoL' label on it.

Sorry for dragging this argument for so long...im quite bored nowadays. So, if the point is if s.freedom has WoL, i agree with that already, im just saying why its so idiotic that it does. Peace manz.
