I see, pay so a unreal tournament/Half Life/other FPS modder can walk off with a big heap of cash.

Lets face it no matter how good any of us are, we wouldnt win, simply because of the game we choose to mod.

To Flameguard: Being old enough to have your OWN card is pretty good.

Who does the money go to, the leader, the team, the one who paid the entry fee....? Just curious as to how they would resolve that.

This sounds interesting except for the fact that not many modders have their own credit card and can pay, and that RTS modders probably won't win.

Prolly will go to the event organizers who will pay it out to the winners :/

Just like a lottery :D

EDIT: Oh i see what you mean. Most likely to the mod leader to dish out to the rest of the team.

Personally i think its a stupid idea anyway. 99% of modders mod for free for a free mod. (excluding Joey from Project mars) TBH i cant see where the 10g's are coming from and how their gonna pay for it for the people that do enter. But we'll see i guess :p

Well, the prize fund will likely be a split between entrance fees, and advertising revenue. Plus a hefty profit for the organiser of course.

I see, pay so a unreal tournament/Half Life/other FPS modder can walk off with a big heap of cash.

But you won't be competing against any fps or rpg mods. :D

The prizes to be awarded are as follows:
Best Singleplayer FPS Mod ($500)
Best Multiplayer FPS Mod ($500)
Best RPG Mod ($500)
Best 'Other' Mod ($500)

But I'm not saying any of us could win, or even enter for that matter. Out of all the mods hosted here at T3A, only 4 or 5 could enter- how many of us have written permission to use what our mods are based on, or could get it in the next week?

Rights: Sponsor does not hold, and cannot grant to any Entrant, any rights or licenses to any of the Underlying Games, for the purpose of developing, copying, distributing, or displaying any Entered Mods or for any other purpose. Entrants are solely responsible for acquiring any necessary rights to any of the Underlying Games and for complying with all applicable license terms and conditions pertaining to the Underlying Games. In addition, before submitting an Entered Mod, the Entrant must have obtained the written permission of all persons or entities having any rights in the Entered Mod itself.

And how many of those 4 or 5 are in beta state?

State of Development: All Entered Mods must be in a "beta" state or better (i.e., Entered Mods must be feature-complete). At least one (1) level of each Entered Mod must be complete and fully playable.
