you mean just like the trolls go crazy when they take too much damage?
but i'm hoping that there's a chance just like trolls.
when you kill those too fast they don't go crazy anymore.
it must be coordinated.

bit off-topic: any one heard about the new book of The Tolkiens?? it's called Children of Hurin

I don't know if it has come out down here in Australia, hope it has though. And yeah, I'm talking something similar to the death of the trolls. And if it can be done like the troll's death (i.e. when you kill them too fast they die without going mental) that would be better.

its a new fear system Cel is working on, not a full out emotion system. :p and this is just so a unit has to be at a certain level to be resistent to fear (ex: orcs=8, tower guards= 2) instead of just having them all immune at 2.

Lol yeah that always annoyed me.

Aragorn: ELENDIL!
Orcs: Pfft what a n00b, we've got a banner carrier so we're immune.

I'm wondering...will this be a progessive fear immunity? Because GTO suggested a system where units could become more resistant to fear as they level up.

Slightly back on topic, yes I do have Children of Hurin. Got it yesterday.

Oh yeah, that's what I mean't, but I think he might include the odd other thing (hopefully the Mumakil thing).

Lol yeah that always annoyed me.

Lol, that was funny. But I don't think that Cel would go to that extent as to make it progressive; it would just overcomplicate things.

And you changed your avatar! :thumbsupsmiley: It took me a few seconds to realise that it was you with the new one.

Lucky, I've only got TLotR, The Hobbit and the Silmarillion. I'm hoping to get the whole collection of the History sometime during the year. :xcahik_:

As to the questions on the emotion system:

- No, progressive fear immunity will not be implemented (I can't think of any way to implement it anyway)
- I will be working on other emotion aspects than just fear. One is the taunt system, another being the large group system. Mumakil and Troll rage is certainly on the list as well.

As a side note: I bought Children of Hurin yesterday while getting some other history books. Not overly excited about it, so I'll wait until I'm finished my other books to start it.

I think the progressive fear immunity is done by granting different attributemodifiers at different levels, with varying percentages of fear resistance.

I'm not sure if it'd work well though, as I haven't tested it (as far as I know neither has GTO).

Is the large group system the one where large groups project fear, or am I talking about something else? And glad to hear that you'll be fixing the Mumakil, and *re-reads post* what do you have in mind for the Troll rage thing? Because I can't really see any need to improve it. :p

Yeah, that ithilein mission isn't as fun without the mumakil doing have the work :p

And it's slightly harder as well, because you have to kill all the Haradrim rather than the Mumakil. But then again, you still kick their arses. ;)

does nobody listen to what i say?

The only unit that i know can light them on fire is the gondor archers.

build some archers and give them fire arrows :p

I like building Rangers with my Ithilien army, then later on I get normal Gondorian Infantry. :mad2: Still, now that Celeglin's fixing it...

Yeah I fill Faramir's army with just Rangers.

The large group bonus is where if a certain number of the same troops are quite close all of them get improved damage and armour.

i know i'm being noob but i only have a few rangers in my army,
i like too have the normal gondor archers because they can have heavy armor.
there armor is a lot better then than that of the rangers
