It would be possible. They'd just need to create test maps with the objects in and alter the camera settings etc.

The units during gameplay dont even look or act like the people in the ingame movies. Thats why i think that it can only be made by EA. For instance, how are you going to make a clip where frodo and sam rows a bow while uruks fire arrows upon them. Thats imposible to do in the game.

There's a CINE object of them rowing. You then get normal archers to fire at them.

Yes, Canterbury... It is very simple really. Just a camera angle and such... Not to hard to do really.

EAs cinematics aren't too complicated really. Most of it are just people attacking each other and cheering.

Plus RA have an animator :p

Well, what doesn't sit well with me is why the Uruk Scouts are the elite archers of Isengard, when the amored Uruk Warriors and crossbows, the most deadly fighters whom Saruman chose for battle, are reduced to basic infantry units. A bow may require more training than a crossbow, but a crossbow is a more advanced weapon of war, due to it's deadly acuracy and power. I know its gonna sound like a demand, but think about this, shouldn't the Uruk Scouts be basic archers while an orc unit is a basic swordsman?

MY view is that scouts are deployed in special operations like at amon hen, so they would be highly trained and lightly armored to move quickly and hit and run. Uruk crossbowmen, which seem like a more deadly force, are only successful because they fight in a large army. Crossbowmen are used to fight agaisnt another army to a larger scale, which makes them the basic, while scouts are elite becuase they are more versatile in different situations

I think it would be interesting if the Scouts (are these the guys with the bow/sword toggle? If not, just ignore this post ...) were basic swordsmen, but elite archers. It would make them more versatile in battles and whatnot, in my opinion.

I think that if they do have a toggle then that will probably be their role. I'd imagine though their lack of melee prowress would come from their lack of armour (i.e. half decent attack but can't take much punishment).

I agree with zimoo and King Earnur here. And yeah, the Uruk Scouts should be the Elite melee archers. :)

Edit: I keep forgetting to ask, but why doesn't Mirkwood have Banner Carriers as an upgrade? I'm just curious, seeing as all the other factions that I have seen have the upgrade........unless it's to make them more unique, or for balance reasons.

Fine, can you perhaps in the future, refrain from flaming me (try saying that when you're drunk), I'll make my own mod, and I won't come back...................................for 20 minutes. :)

@ Olorin, my guess is that you have to level up the elven army instead of researching a banner carrier, which sounds cool to me.

That doesn't really answer my question. :) I'm asking why they chose to do it so; I know the effects of not having Banner Carriers researchable. And hell yeah it's cool to level up your army (in some cases better), but I would still like to know.

Uruk King, he was not flaming you. We had already been over this, and his patience had grown thin. I don't blame him.

I imagine the uruk scouts to be exactly what their name says, scouts. Why is it so complicated?

I have 2-3 maybe even four questions
1 Will units still be able to join together?
2 Have the modding team ever met in person[out of curiousity]?
3 Will campaign be in BFME 2 format where your put into the level?
4 Will there be hero hordes?

1. yes you can still combine hordes together.

4. no in the terms of BFME2. but some units have special abilities and number of units in horde isnt constant. IMO RA brings better system them hero hordes.

3. not sure if i understand the question right but if there will be new campaing ( it will not be in first release ) then it will use same system as bfme1 campaing. so you can choose from several places to figth and only some battles ( likes Helm's deep or Minas Tirith ) are fixed so you must do them at certain stage of the campaing.

2. would be really nice but it is almost impossible. imagine that...i live in central europe ( czech republic ) while Nertea is from Vancouver i belive. that's almost half of the world. it is like 9 time zones :crazed:

Ched and Drewry have met haven't they. And Bard lives in Malaysia.

About combining hordes, can we un-combine them like in Deezire's mod?
