I am having trouble with the Elven Warrior (BFME1 - The "helm's deep elf"). Specifically I want to see if I can SOMEHOW make the bow and arrow subobjects dissapear completely, as well as if there is some way to make the quiver go away.

Now before you go on, I have read most basic tutorials I've found, and my problems are related directly to that.

The thing is... Take for example this tutorial
http://www.nicktheme...et/tutorial.htm

This guy opens his man-at-arms model and it looks like a Gondor man at arms.

My man at arms model shows up as a collection of random lines that in NO way resemble a soldier even when I select it and click "Hide unselected" to do away with the shield, the forgedblade, and the "bounding box", whatever that thing is.

Here's what I mean

Second, that tutorial follows a procedure where he has a selection of bones, and there's quite a list!
Like so

When I did that, all that showed up was
1.The Forged Blade
2.The Shield
3.The Bounding Box
4.The model itself as one whole object

I get the same thing with the Elf Warrior. There I see the Forged Blade, the Arrownock, the Bounding Box, and the model itself. And a fire arrow tip. But I think (and I may be completely wrong) that if I could see all subobjects like they show up in that tutorial, maybe the quiver would be one, and if I could get its name, I could try to hide it via script?
Which may be a stupid way of thinking but I am mostly learning through trial and error anyway

So...
Is there any way to see all the subobjects/break up the main model into more pieces?
And why doesn't it look like a normal model to me?
Am I missing something very basic or is it a difference in renx version? Or something completely different? (Like me being so modelling-illiterate that I cannot DISCERN the model even if it is there).

I know it's a few strange questions there but I wouldn't bother asking if I hadn't checked many tutorials first.

If anything is not clear enough, ask me and I will get into more depth...

In the end, all I want is a way to make the quiver, bow, and arrow on the rohan elven warrior dissapear...

The reason you've got a crushed model is that the program can't find the skeleton. You should make sure the ruelvenworrior_skl (i think that's what it's called) is in the same directory as the model file.

Unfortunately though, I don't think the quiver is a subobject. You could detach it from the main object though, and make it a subobject. If you want them gone perfectly, deletion is an option too. You'd then have to rebind the model to the skeleton and reeexport it though (for both options).

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Thanks, now I see the normal model!

Yes it doesn't seem to be a subobject (grrr) but at least now I can delete it manually. Though I don't think I'll go through the trouble, at least not yet, it's definetely an option.

Thanks for the help

NEW IDEA!

Alright, I was looking at the Elven Banner model, and here it goes: That guy has the banner as a different object, AND he has no bow/arrow/quiver/whatever on him!

Is there any way to use that model, without the flag, with the skeleton/animations of the elven warrior?

You'd have to import the model and rig it to the elven warrior skeleton... either way, you're going to need to do some rigging, or find someone charitable enough to rig it for you ;) .

Hmm, I see, I see...

Is that hard, or just time-consuming? Any good tutorials that I can look at? ;)
