I have 3 GBs of memory @ 533mhz, Intel Viiv Pentium D 820 Dual Core Processor, 256MB nVidia GeForce 7300LE. Drivers are updated to recent versions.

Anyone have a thought on this?

The 7300 series isn't designed for that kind of thing, it's supposed to be for home media machines - for watching movies and all that jazz. It's not really a gaming video card. It's probably not well equipped enough to really deal with CnC3

Depends on your hardware and your settings. CPU (5000+ looks fine), what kind of DDR ram is it (can make a difference). The video card.. hmmm.. thats ok. C&C3 would demand alot from it if you start maxing out details and playing on hi res like 1600x1200.

I don't think there's that many people playing on that resolution, is there :p? TFT screens have one preferred resolution, my not-that-old CRT can do 1600x1200 as max but on 60 Hz (= flickering to my eyes).

I'm pretty sure my cards could handle it though :p. But I do need a game that doesn't error for that to test it.

Yes I've been hearing about these C&C3 errors. Damn.. Only error I got was sometimes I get a D3D dll error when running the main exe so it shows the C&C3 splash screen but then drops to desktop. If I reboot, then it works ok. Might be to do with Overclocking my GPU using RivaTuner but my GPU is currently OC'ed and C&C3 works so dunno..

PC Games these days are eye-candy heavy so expect stuff like this to happen.

Yeah true but.. I'd say 2 8800 GTX in SLI *would* be able to handle C&C3 just fine :S. I don't think it's my graphics cards that'd be problematic, there's plenty of people with this issue and all have different system specs. I hope they make a fix soon. Glad that you don't get the error anyways :p.

I got a 2.8ghz P4
radeon x1650 pro
and 1gig ram

Its weird, like this game lags on me pretty good. Even during the FMVs, the movies move extremmly slow and the audio finishes like 30 seconds to a minute before the fmv is done. I even turned my whole card settings down to high performance-extreme low details and did the same ingame and still slow.

That rig should have no problems with running this game.

If it's limited to the movies, you may want to try updating your audio and video codecs. If it's the whole game that lags, you should try updating drivers too, or perhaps the settings are just too high? If the problems persist, take a shot at getting support at the EA support forums.

Or maybe defragmenting the hard drive or checking for spyware. Do any other (recent) games lag as well?

It is mainly the movies right now, other movies don't do this on my computer, just seems to be from the game. I don't know if having an external dvd drive has anything to do with this as well?

Did not mess with game settings, I keep them at default, but I did move everything down as low as it could, as well as card settings. Gameplay did get smoother, which was expected, but the videos still lagged massivly. Kind of the main annoying thing. I will try updating anything that can be updated on my computer. I will also defrag my computer Blaat, I meant to actually do that yesterday but did not get around to it, so I guess I have a reason to now..lol.

The videos are high-def, which are hard on your CPU to play back. I had some audio-video sync issues on my Athlon XP 2400+ (OC'ed to 2.1Ghz from 2.0Ghz stock). I haven't tried the campaign yet on my new desktop (Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 2 gig DDR2 800, 8800GTS 640MB) but it should do just fine.

Looks like MM is right then. :(

BTW. The dvd drive isn't used beyond checking for the disk at startup. Because of the noise the damn thing makes, I take the disk out after that check.

I figured as much, but if im not mistaken the x1650 is HD ready, and shouldnt really cause these lag sync issues. Kind of makes me not want to play the campaign because of this. Guess Ill just wait till the SDK is released.

It's more than likely that you're CPU limited rather than video limited. The video isn't really GPU accelerated, it's decoded on the CPU. At high res that's still a fair amount of work.
