I just found out that I have a rather unusual medical condition, which does not have a name. I have abnormally low blood pressure and heart rate, which on the one hand, means that I pass out rather more easily than most when I drink and/or smoke weed (they both lower blood pressure), but it also means that the odds of my ever having a heart attack are astronomical, unless of course I regularly douse my organs in bacon grease. The doctor also believes this is why I am such a naturally calm person, which is nice. I honestly can't remember the last time I got genuinely angry. So yeah, my body makes me one chilled out dude.

So it's a beneficial condition then? I'm confused

Edit: And well done Puppet, much better than mine

Yes, Neth, it's a positive thing, but for one aspect. When I drink alcohol and smoke marijuana together, I am prone to passing out because they both lower blood pressure as part of their effects. But apart from that, it's a very good thing.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Blood pressure aside, the two together can be a bit of a nasty combination. Anyways, congratulations Puppeteer.

I celebrate beating Spider Solitaire on four suit mode. :good:

I'll be buying one of those soon, when I can be bothered. 160GB of music should be enough!

Oooh, what's your blood pressure?
Mine's 90/60 which is the threshold of being hypotension (ie causing problems, so mine is fine as it is), however it does have the tendency to drop by about 10/5 when I stand up, or do exercise, so I often get dizzy spells and nearly faint, regardless of how slowly I stand up. It's a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it's really disorientating - I get slight tunnel vision, I can barely stay standing and it feels as if my brain has just gone "what was I doing? nyuhhhhhhhhhhhh... annnnd I'm back, sorry about the lag". This happens every other time I stand up, and almost certainly if I've been sitting down for more than 10 minutes.
My heart rate is probably normal. I rarely get angry or start shouting - I just get cold and bitter (more than usual)! I do often lack energy and cannot sleep, but I put that down to my sobriety/anxiety.

Edit: I should add, the fainting episodes only last about ten seconds.

Mine's about 100/60, but it drops considerably when I stand up quickly. I've had tunnel vision to the point where I can't see anything at all except a tiny dot of light right at the center of my vision. I get moderately dizzy, but I've never fainted.

That sounds familiar actually...is your vision as if you can only see loads of black glitter around the edges and you get really dizzy? I actually fell twice, didn't even notice I was falling :p

Our school(s) had prom last night/this morning, and it was pretty damn good! The food was lousy and the bar expensive as, but hey, that didn't prevent some from getting pretty much paralytic. Or losing shoes.

I had my operation today! My ACL reconstruction (not repair, and it's the hamstring, not the patella):
Posted Image
My parents were worrying more than me. Mine was absolutely fine. My leg is pretty stiff and I can walk on crutches, but stairs and sitting down is a tad difficult. The nurses were lovely, I chatted to other ward patients, had lots of tea and I've been fascinated by pronouncing Old English words from Beowulf, so it's been quite all right. Plus I'm still a little bit drugged up with the general anaesthetic.

Edit: A day later, I'm feeling very optimistic! Stairs still pose a threat, but the painkillers are working. Still can't go anywhere - I won't be for about two weeks!
Post Edit: This is the first time in a long time that I feel that something is going my way. I cannot wait to be free of my injury. It'll be one less insecurity to worry about.

I celebrate a successful move to college. My desk's book selection is beautiful, complete with the Riverside Shakespeare, the Alan Lee illustrated edition of Lord of the Rings, and my laptop, which now has high-speed internet. Yesssss.

I've been single for far too long. At first it's enjoyable, with the extra degree of freedom you are afforded, but sooner or later you come to miss all the good things about relationships. Then it turns out that all the women you know are either in relationships already or have nothing in common with you, and you get annoyed. I should really take that particular point over to the Vent Your Anger thread, I guess. Being single sucks, guys. I would recommend you try not to make a habit of it.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.
