That l0ooks great... ^^ I hope it won´t take that long to complete... But far more important is a new A.I. for all Fractions that are finished atm... ^^

no its not, pend has already said no new ai will be added till the gla are done, He is planing on reworking cyber gens ai anyways in a new way. So he is not gonna waste time making ai for the sides we have only to come back and have to change them all over again when done.

Also its still a testers only mod right now, there maybe 1 more public release with bug fixes but what u all got was simply to keep u happy and to stop u thinking the mod was dead or nothing was happening.

I´m sorry but I don´t realy understand that way of thinking... oO Isn´t that the sence of modding? Making something creative and after that remaking some things to make it even better than before? oO If you don´t like the Modding work (like this sounds to me) just don´t do it... oO

Its not "just for testers".. the 2.29 is a playable version that is stable enough I don't mind my work being public. But its not FINISHED. Theres still alot of work to do, not only to the GLA, but on the USA and China sides aswell.

The problem with AI scripting, is every time the code is changed, the AI has to be changed with it. If theres alot of code work to be done, then theres alot of AI work to be done. So, if I made the AI now, I'd have to remake it again once I finish the code.

I enjoy modding, but I'd much rather do each step once only.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Pend i was talking about the testers only wips u release if u do not mind your work being public why did u with hold the work for ages before making a public one?

My point is u do keep from the public while we work on making sure it balanced out and stable that what i am talking about "not" the current public version.

Some more GLA progress...

The three stages of the Assault GLA superweapon. the smallest version is available as a replacement for the Palace. Then, at each tech level it is upgraded with more shells.

The reloading animation is sweet but the acctual fireing looks a bit strange, the cannons recoil to much.

i don't agree gren i think the animatioon is fine..... and grend that looks fing awsome ;)
This "almost" takes the spot i had in my heart for that plasma battery super weapon what got ditched >.< damn that thing was sweet lol.

? what u mean? both barrels do in turn and the main part of the barrel recoils like a normal artillery or tank barrel does in real life.

but any and all recoiling weapons have 1 barrel with a bigger cylinder at the back that the barrel recoils into (explained clearly?)
And thats what the cannon has the fixed section and the barrel recoiling... looks fine.

If the back recoiled as well then it would slam through the revolver... obviously it can't do that without destroying it...

I think you should have a different particle effect for the explosion of the shells because that one explosion type is used very often

a tank shell would not kill an inf in 1 shot, guy with a sniper wouldn't be able to shoot out a overlord, black lotus would notbe able to capture a building with a suitcase.

wow, i dont know what you mugs are on about with the recoil...

the whole thing is awsome, the reloadings, the firing, the way it looks....
i love how it reloads aswell.
but i think the shells need a more HE effect, or a unique FX for these superweapons, or possibley nuke shells for just the single shot cannon ;) with out the radiation.
whats the reload time on them all?

also, pend, will they double up as base defences when idle?

FX Per shell could be better but interms or any nuke rounds or anythign i don't think it needs it it made short work of a command center it "don't" need any more killing power.
It would kill a sw easy, however we did talk about nuke rounds as a tech 3 upgrade and pend said maybe depends on balance and its power so it might it might not.
