Also, netplay appears to be working! I am not surprised since the game version clearly changed (model changed). Also I swear the AI got less ridiculous...
I may stay away from Easy AI as that may still be dicked-up. But I have got this mod working, and now I can get on and play it properly. Thanks for the help, everyone.

fyi,
the "easy" AI is labeled "normal", and it is easy. Its supposed to be a little tougher, and once I've spent more time on the AI it will be, but Hard and Insane are the Gems of the AI. Hard is a very hard fight, and insane should be nearly imposible for a single player to defeat.
Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

I'm just making sure, you're testing against Robot General, without Tournament mode, on a map thats not restrictivly small.

It was a restrictive map, but Hard coped fine with it. Maybe it is just REALLY easy, but to me it looked as bugged as before (no vehicles). Regardless, I can play online, I can work towards being able to defeat Hard... I am happy.
I just raped my (noob) friend twice with flame general. He was weeping into his beer after those.

What amount of money are you using? Try a round at 50K or 100K and let me know if its still gimped. The harder dificulties get free money to help with the challenge, but a normal AI doesn't. If you're playing a 5K or 10K game you're likely going to see gimped AI.
Map size is another major factor for AI stability. the larger and more open the map the stronger the AI will perform. You'll even see system performance boosts as it can build without restrictions. (running out of space can cause a rythmic stutter in the game)
Still, the Hard is a much better fight. Its just barely overpowering in most 1vs1 matches. I can beat it, sometimes... it depends on the map and the general I choose. For me that means its the perfect dificulty for a 1vs1.
also lots of fun, a 4 player free for all vs the AI. It reveals a COMEPLETY difernt game balance than a 1vs1. AirForce general is a perfect example, he went from being one of the weakest to one of the strongest just by adding more players to the mix.
In the next readme version I'll include a mini-chapter "getting the most from your AI"
