Hello, I have the Spanish version of the game. Since I can play in your map?.
I have installed the map, so much in the directory where the installer installs it, since in another directory and me it does not appear in the game. I wait for your help.
I have the patch 1.03 installed.
Thank you.

I don't know if the Spanish Version will work. If installing the map to your Spanish BFME Files in AppData doesn't work, then I have no idea.

I have found an issue with the map. It is awesome, but the Minas Morgul castle can only build Mordor building. I tried to play as Gondor in the castle against three Mordor armies. I could recruit the Gondor heroes, but could not build the Gondor stuff. Also, how do you combine this with The Elven Alliance mod? I have no experience with mod combinations, only applying mods. I want to play with the new heroes, units, and the Elven faction. Thanks- Yarrum

That's not a bug, it's how fortress maps work unfortunately - same goes for Minas Tirith, Edoras etc, as they're set up specific rather than use the normal bases.

And combining mods is very difficult to do, especially for a new modder.

Another question, is the Morgul map included in the Shadows of Evil mod? Also, is it possible to make Minas Morgul not be faction-specific? Regarding your last sentence, I would still appreciate if you could explain the combining mods thing, or at least tell me somewhere to find out how. I would like to leaqrn how to make mods, but know not where to start or who to ask for help. Thanks- Yarrum

Currently, no. However, as I stated in the Shadows of Evil thread, I will look into the possibility of combining them. If it is possible and easy then I will do so. ;)

Also, is it possible to make Minas Morgul not be faction-specific?

Yes, it is probably possible. But it would require a decent amount of work, and as I don't feel that it is worth it, I won't be doing it. Basically as m@tt said, fortress maps are intended to be played as they were in the movies or books and since the vast majority of players are looking to recreate those battles, it just isn't worth it to spend the extra time and effort on somthing like that when we could instead work on creating cool new units/heroes/powers/etc.

Regarding your last sentence, I would still appreciate if you could explain the combining mods thing, or at least tell me somewhere to find out how. I would like to leaqrn how to make mods, but know not where to start or who to ask for help. Thanks- Yarrum

Combining mods takes an incredible amount of work to do, more so if you are looking to combine the Elven Alliance with any decently large mod (Shadows of Evil included). I personally won't take the time to walk you through it as I no longer spend most of my time on the forums or doing anything with Bfme. However, if you go to the "Modding bfme1" forums on this site then you can ask there and I'm sure someone can explain the basics of it. But first I would strongly recommend that you work on making your own small mod or combining two small mods together as TEA is very large and complicated and I wouldn't recommend a beginner modder start with it ;)

But if you are really determined to do it, go for it ;) read up on the tutorials on the site, ask questions in the other forums, and you can do it.

I got into modding because I wanted to add a few little things here and there, then I started adding huge things in, and now I'm a computer science major at college and my entire foundation and understanding of coding came from my experience with bfme and these forums. Pretty crazy actually when I think about it :shiftee:

Well, I was messing around with the morgul map mod this week end, and guess what I did? I combined it with shadows of evil! It works perfectly except that I don't know how to get the text for the morgul buildings to work. I know it was something to do with the .STR files or something, but that's all. Anyways, If someone wants the .ini file (with your permission Gothmog), then I can send it to you. Cya- Yarrum

Wow. That sounds cool. The mod is almost done err sort of :D I hope it actually gets finished. I have yet to see a large mod that is actually completed. I have confidence in this one though. A lot of confidence.

@yarrum: certainly you have my permission to distribute those two mods combined :) nice job on getting them all working. If you'd like to send me the file I can upload it to my site after I give it a quick bug check (note that I cannot provide a time frame for that due to the fact I haven't even had enough free time to visit the forums since the start of school).

@Theliah: thanks for the vote of confidence! I just wish I had the time to personally see it through... but I'm insanely busy and there are no signs that it will let up so it's up to Beleg and the team, who I have confidence in

Well, I'm not really sure how to send it to you, because the maximum amount of attachment space for a PM is 4 MBs, and the file is 20 MBs. I'll put it up for download on the3rdage, and you can get it from there. Cya- Yarrum

Edit: Okay, up for download.
