hmp, looks complicating. l have so many ideas but so little skills to use. asdmmh... l'm beginner. Need some information... :p :p

Well, if I told you that all mod-making is primarily done with rulesmd.ini, that rulesmd.ini is in a *.mix file, and the only program capable of opening a *.mix file is the XCC Mixer, what would you do?

if i where him.. i would DLD xcc mixer.. and search/ mod the RulesMd.INI (hint)

Ooo, a post in my area! :grin:

Ok, so to get XCC Mixer (And the other utilities) you can go to here. When using that you must open the mix files found in your RA2/YR directory. YR mixes can be told apart because they have "md" at the end of their names. As a note, the 1.001 updated mixes are found in expandmd01.mix.

Yeep yep... l have now xcc utilities, and opened mix files and YR mixes with xcc mixer.. But l don't understand how make own voxels, sounds, animations, new units ect. l would want to make own mod :p

Well, for youre own buildings.. many people (inculdeing me).. if they make an building we first make it in 3D and then make an screeny of it.. and convert it to 2D.. but you need SHP BUILDER (you can also create buildings in there.. or in PAINT).. to create youre own tanks/units.. you need voxel section editor if iam right.. and for sounds.. you need an sound editing program (Fruityloops for example/ Audacity for recording).. and animations are also done in SHPbuilder/paint/what ever...

Anyways.. good luck creating youre mod!

Great! l'm in the begining and l ;) voxel section editor 3, and it works :D , but how l put sounds, voices to it, and for example revolve its turret? And how add attack trenght, armor, speed ect. ?

I created tank which is little smaller than 50x50x50. How big is it compared Rhino tank?

And more questions... ;)
Can i make infantry with this editor? How l put cameo to new unit (l quess that it join ti SHP builder)?

No, get the rules from expandmd01.mix otherwise you will be extracting an old ini and not the latest.

To edit units just find their entries (Such as the Grizzly is [MTNK]) and edit the tags. To add one you have list it in the UnitTypes list for ground, naval or aircraft from a War Factory, InfantryTypes for infantry, AircraftTypes for aircraft and BuildingTypes for structures.

I recommend registering with Deezire and then downloading his Ra2/YR INI guides. They help describe what most of the different tags do.
