Hi, i am somewhat used to modding, and i have done some small modding in BFME 1, but now i am trying to change a few things in ROTWK. In skirmish mode i would like to be able to build gimli and legolas while playing the men faction. Now in BFME1 all i had to do was add there names to the playertemplate.ini file to the faction i wanted them in. I did that in ROTWK, but their icons never showed up. I could use any adive.

to add gimli and and legolas to men faction, what I do is delete the RohanEowyn and RohanEomer codes from playertemplate.ini. Then I put DwarvenGimli ElvenLegolas where RohanEowyn and RohanEomer were, then your done. No need to edit the command button or commandsets for anything. If you want Gimli and Legolas without eliminating to heroes, then go into commandset.ini and add 2 or more slots into the commandset for reviving heroes in the Men fortress.

There's no need to delete anyone Glorfindel

Besides adding them into the playertemplate.ini like Glorfindel said (without deleting),
all you need to do for the most part is add new buttons in the Commandset.

i.e.

//Hero Menu
	14	= Command_RingHeroReviveSlot
	15	= Command_CreateAHeroReviveSlot // Note we also need an extra slot for the Create A Hero
	16	= Command_GenericReviveSlot1 //Revives any hero. keep them UNIQUE within the same commandset!
	17	= Command_GenericReviveSlot2
	18	= Command_GenericReviveSlot3
	19	= Command_GenericReviveSlot4
	20	= Command_GenericReviveSlot5
	21	= Command_GenericReviveSlot6
	22	= Command_GenericReviveSlot7
	23	= Command_RadialBack
End

Add an extra 2-3 more buttons. Like so:

//Hero Menu
	14	= Command_RingHeroReviveSlot
	15	= Command_CreateAHeroReviveSlot // Note we also need an extra slot for the Create A Hero
	16	= Command_GenericReviveSlot1 //Revives any hero. keep them UNIQUE within the same commandset!
	17	= Command_GenericReviveSlot2
	18	= Command_GenericReviveSlot3
	19	= Command_GenericReviveSlot4
	20	= Command_GenericReviveSlot5
	21	= Command_GenericReviveSlot6
	22	= Command_GenericReviveSlot7
	23	= Command_GenericReviveSlot8   ;; ADDED
	24	= Command_GenericReviveSlot9   ;; ADDED
	25	= Command_RadialBack
End

That way you have enough to build more heroes that you added into the game. The same problem happened to me when I first started modding. Then I added more command buttons and it solved the problem. My way of doing it is stayin at least 1 ahead of the curve.

i.e.
If I have 8 heroes, put 9 slots.
If I have 10 heroes, put 11 slots.
etc...

Downfall, thats what I said, I said you can just add more revive slots in the men fortress commandset. I choose to delete eowyn and eomer because they are useless heroes, thats all.

Yes you did.
But it doesn't hurt to show a newbie (assuming he is one) how to do it through a short tutorial. :xcahik_:

You will also need to edit the Button 'SelectRevivables' for the 'MenFortressCommandset'.
There is a number after an entry named 'Ranged' or something. you will need to increase it by two as well. It should now be 8 (one for each hero button plus the 'return' button=, so it needs to be 10 now.
