Here is the very basic illistration of the mod me and some falks going to work on... All I want you to do is to post some unit ideas and if you could provide an image or picture for a better understanding of their description.
The mod is going to involve two sides: good and evil, but a lot of races that is why you are wellcome to use your imagination:

Good:
Rohan
Rivendell
Mirkwood
Iron Hills
Gondor
Erebor
Arnor

Evil:
Angmar
Harad
Isengard
Khand
Mordor
Black Pit(Moria)
Rhun
Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice!

There are already multiple modifications for the bfme1 that include those factions... What will make yours more unique?

Moved to the appropiate forum.

Flameguard, I think this should answer your question.

IIS and team, good luck with your mod :xcahik_:

Minifactions, another concept overoveroverused by all the new mods :xcahik_:

Also, it's an unwritten rule that somebody who needs creativity from other people (commonly called "idea guys") can't start or lead a mod

Well, here's a thought. Make your factions in pairs. 2 goods and 2 bads. And each has a specific enemy. It follows the patterns of BFME1. There are the allies of Gondor and Rohan, and Isengard and Mordor. Gondor is against Mordor. Rohan is against Isengard. My mod is going to have Lorien against Moria. And its counterpart Mirkwood against Moria's counterpart Dol Guldor. And in all of this, keep every faction totally unique. You cant have Lorien and Mirkwood being nearly identical, and when you do get them worked out, make sure that they go well together with the original factions. And then after you got it balanced, let us judge your work!

Maybe make 2 good sides "Allies of The West" and "Allies of The East",
And 2 evil sides "Evil Men"(all the Evil hearted men) and "*whatever*".

Maybe make 2 good sides "Allies of The West" and "Allies of The East",

Except that all the allies live in the west ^_^

So what? That's still 42 heroes and 56 units. That's insane and not very feasible.

Whatever you do, make sure there is an equal number of evil and good sides. Fewer sides will be more realistic in the sense of actually getting the thing finished. And do you know how hard it is to make a new faction? I am still having trouble making it work in World builder. Start small! I am making only 2 factions for my mod if any. It is nothing big but its more realistic for an amateur. Pick 1 or 2 that you really like, complete them, and THEN you can add some more. Thats my advice.
