Hi there :crazed: ,

I'm quite new to modding things and a have a question concerning the asset Builder from EA

I want to creat Buttons

So what I did:
I created a "art" folder in the bfme directory and in there anoter folder called "texture". There I saved my picture

Then I opened Asset Builder dragged the picture into the white and clicked "save" and an error appeared on the
sreen, telling me that the original asset.dat file can't be found

what I'm doing wrong??
can someone help me please??

To use EA's Asset Builder, You should have a folder with your "art" folder inside aswell as the actual asset builder. Then, You simply run the asset builder. There is no need to drag your files in to it.

hes not using ea's assset builder, hes using the other one (the drag and drop one that can append or make new).

Your mistake is your modding bfme2/rotwk and you dont have BFME1 installed. the asset youre builder was made for bfme1, and when you tell it to append will automatically look for the path to bfme1 to find asset.dat.

Id recommend using the ea asset builder.

He states he is using EA's Asset Builder and he is not the only one i have seen try to drag and drop files in to this asset builder.

If you are indeed using sy's asset builder, In this case you must select the "Create asset.dat from files in list only" as alike Argolis has stated "Append to existing Asset.dat" will not work as the program was created for bfme1 wich means it cannot find the required asset.dat.

If you use ea's asset builder, You must remember you may have to set up your asset files like they were supposed to be for Bfme1 alike so,
"art/textures" instead of "art/compiledtextures/" as ea's asset builder was also created for bfme1.
