yay, i have a vote! :p

lets think about this

lets have all of the super advanced races up for nomination

also, how about instead of having them in sub space... they could be in "super space"

super space is the opposite of sub, at the other end, so it is bigger then our space, that way it could explain how they hadnt been found, seen as lots of people have sub space engines, but nobody wants to go into "super space", as it wouldn't be good for getting around

also, maybe it can be that some of us work together to find it

me and FZM just finished a topic where we allied, and i sent with him some of my ships to his way world, it could be that seen as i was helping him out, i install some tech, and in conjunction with his stuff, it lets us find the gates

what do you think?

As a matter of fact, I am currently aboard the very same Wayworld :p Seeing as my people are experts in salvage and technological adaptation, why don't we all find it? The super-alliance between KRONOS, the Caenophar and the Chalsidii.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Actually, you're on a different one.:D Good try though.
The Chalsidii are on Kor'Atia with Lanthor and KRONOS have been chatting with Essiel, who is from Cass'elia. Although I did at one point call the KRONOS guy Lanthor due to it being about 1 in the morning ;)

Good idea about Superspace though. :p

Damn. :) Never mind, I'll use them later. And/or adapt them to a smaller version for my own ships, if Nowe'll let me. Seeing as how that's the entire point of my race.

lol.

Superspace would be vastly immense, much bigger than any universe. If I decided it would exist, the gates would be no where near the Milky Way galaxy. It's a good idea, it just wouldn't work.

We could go down to Microspace :thumbsupsmiley:

Lol. I already have. Slipspace ~ Microspace. It's what allows me to get places darn quick. I just use a different dimension of Microspace for travel, as the rest is radiation filled. That's where we could find these gates.

lol

whatever you decide im sure it will be cool, but i would like the gates discovery to be combined effort
(how you said its full of radiation, what kind do you mean?, cause maybe to get to one of the gates we could send one of my guys drones, they aren't organic so they wouldn't die if it is people killing radiation

so we could make a device to send a pod or drone of my guys into micro space, to tinker with the gate and bring it back to our normal space
(if its some super freaky radiation though that severs the link between the drone and the 'overmind', maybe the problem wouldn't be sending the drone, but would be shielding it without cutting of the overminds link?)

but as i said, whatever you decide...

Or we could someone in on a suicide mission for the good of the galaxy? ;) Alternatively, we could develop some kind of thingy for dragging them through microspace and up into regular old-fashioned space.

Does anyone other than me think we're working in too many dimensions here? What's wrong with space, subspace and superspace? Also, why does hyperspace have to be called that? It's just subspace travel, going a shorter distance in a dimension that distorts time and space. So why so many names?

By radiation I mean: Erratic Gamma Rays bursts, frying electronics, Microwaves, frying organic matter, Radio Waves, scrambling signals to and from anything, etc. The entire electormagnetic spectrum is random in that zone.

lol yeah, as i said, we would need some kind of shielding from it then

maybe we could make a little 'bubble' of normal space around a ship, and send it into micro space?

Well, just as you said. You'd basically be 'cavitating' within microspace. Using normal space as a sort of shield around the ship. Basically we'll detect an odd energy signature that could only be from microspace, and we'll find a way to investigate it.

Sir! I volunteer some_weirdGuy for a suicide mission! Destined for failure :p Or at least minor death. Either way, I'm sure great hilarity shall ensue.
