1) I like the old missile effect better than the huge missiles that everything launches.
2) Nothing is interceptable anymore....It was like the one defense against missile bombardment from those nuke chuckers.
3) The AI is uberly agressive. Any way to change it so I don't get swamped in the first 5 minutes against a medium?
4) Allied AI sucks. (as in any comp allied with you sits on its ass and does nothing, even at brutal setting)
5) Theres no C-4 units.....i rather liked being able to blow up bridges.

RS is a hard mod,you have to have some actual strategy skills to be good in it,practice on island maps a little,if you read "famous battle stories" thread mayby elarn somethign you could use.

First of all, your problems are not "problems", i would call it dislikes at best.
1) Well, be glad they aren't all v3 rocket sizes then, then i'd call them HUGE
2) Really? last i checked fury missiles especially were stoppable and nova platform was cut as most of that thing doesn't make sense in practical future war.
3) As is intended, every n00b cries out initially until they L2P (Learn To Play!) and think outside standard RA2 gameplay so how about you try defending first.
4) Maybe you should try use them as mere means of buying you time to tech up and setup that economy than really try rely on them fighting your war for you...
5) In fast paced war, most of the time such troops die enroute to target unless its a bridge but then if you are playing maps with bridges, that only makes AI easier due to various flaws of game itself, play open area battles like heck freezes over for proper challenge.
It's like how Tanya was deemed worst hero always dying trying C4 buildings and stuff, if theres any c4 infantry in future, it will be limited.

Ok sure. Dislikes then. Except for the interception one. Its not that the AA guns can't intercept, its just that the tracking range is really really short. So by the time a missile is past the interception point, the turret is only just beginning to fire, meaning it doesnt take out the missile. That and Freedom's nuke chucker missiles are ridiculously fast.
The AI issue is this for me: Easy AI is pretty simple to beat. Normal AI will spam the shit out of me. In a normal game, the spam tactic wouldn't work because I'd have set up a fairly good turret line by then. Problem is that I can't intercept the artillery being chucked at me. I know that RA2 is NOT a turtler's game, which hurts me a little when it comes to actual attacks, but due to a WAVE of uninterceptable missiles coming at me, I usually don't last past the second wave.
I know that friendly AIs aren't supposed to win the game for you. I know that. They never have. However, they ARE supposed to be able to hold their own. SO when they do NOTHING in terms of troop buildup to stave off imminent death, theres something wrong. I build up my base and suddenly 5 "our ally is under attack" messages pop up in 10 sec and suddenly no more ally. I watch and its usually a wave of helicopter and ground troops against....5 or 6 basic turrets. I think the whole "AI meatshield" thing needs to be tweaked a little so they can at least put up a fight.

also in regards to nuke chuckers i.e nova platforms, you can simply use bombing aircraft which are highly effective against clustered groups of units.
you might also wish to consider building units instead of trying to play as France in YR
finally ai sucks because of a YR issue, it sucks in normal yr too (they get owned by 3 kirovs normally) my only advice is to support them and be thankful its "ally" under attack instead of your own.
also more and varied is better, using a mix of different units will lead to success.
to be honest I just want to repeat learn to play statement
also that just got this mod is kinda lol, as its been out for ages.

Vary your unit combinations. The AI will spam you into the floor to add challenge. So compensate by building 'multi-kill' units...artillery, bombers etc. Your best bet to stop an attack of nuke chuckers is, well, to kill them before they kill you. Have a hunting pack or simply fuck them up when you notice they're attacking you. It's no good sitting there and letting them pulverise you. You have tanks. They're there for a reason.
Allied AIs are meat shields. At best, they're a buffer to stop the first few waves until your own forces are substantial enough to give half a chance.

Finally, indeed use a mix of things. After you have the max amount of air units, use artillery placements to support your air units. Furthermore, when you get some promoted units or units to spare, use those as small attack forces (and escort them with some artillery if need be).
Spread your units out.
When I am playing FL, and have a ton of rank 3 kirovs, I begin taking out a few and thinning my line of defensive kirovs (but keeping them spaced in a way where there is no safe spot for the enemies to get through). The ones I had to spare go out and begin attacking with Nuclear Subs as support (they take out the anti-air for the Kirovs, and the Kirovs go for the artillery). You should always spread your unit defenses anyway. The only time you should group your unit defenses is to stop a mass incoming. Watch out, because sometimes the AI will attack elsewhere while sending said group... sort of a distraction tactic! Almost lost a huge chunk of my base from a 3-way attack force before.
As Nexus? Well, Nexus defenses nearly do the job just themselves, so you will need few Zephyrs to defend. However, have bombers read (this applies with every team) to take out the artillery headed to your base, such as Weather Tanks.
AL? Well, AL has great anti-air (seriously...), and their stealth tanks pack an incredibly painful punch (stealth tank spam defeats me in skirmishes...). Stealth tanks can level defenses incredibly fast.

Brutal AI spams those things by the dozens, good thing to have is a hero behind some cannons in ur base, because the stealh detect drones are usless craps, easyest with fl is to just deploy a rad tank in choke points udner kirovs, and they have twin sisters Nadias ,in my opinion NEXUS is easiest of Brutal AI's while AL is the hardest, but i hear NEXUS will be a crazy AI in 2.0
And if you want a challange play some Warzone 2100 and see were NEXUS came from, and fight the bastard in campaign 3
