Since this forum became a dead forum cos Cal's gone missing for several months and I have some free time today.
May I post some COLORED portraits of The Lord of the Rings characters ? I will do them just for fun if I have free time. It's a bit weird to me to leave this forum like a wasted forum. Also later I might be able to include WOTE portraits. However, I haven't got much skills in Photoshop anyway, They're just for fun.

P.S.I haven't played BFME2 lately due to the school stuff.
Caution: They could be the most horrible works ever.

Whilst the images haven't been given the parchment effect, the fade you've put on them is very good. Many so-called 2d-artists struggle with putting such a fade on their images.

All these portraits are made just for fun. But if this mod really wants to use them (if they are good enough), you can use them in anyway as you want. Also the portrait's size is not 200x200, so if you use them please resize them first.

It's missing the parchment effect, but the fades you used are very good. So, they aren't horrible at all
Could you try creating a parchment-like one, to see how that'd turn out?

Thank you Allathar. There's one problem. I don't know what is parchment effect or how does it look like.
Could anyone show me what is it or at least give me a clue? This is the first time I make portraits, so I need some experiences. Helping me out would be very appreciated and thankful.

Also I still couldn't find Cal's tutorial about creating portrait. Was it because of my eyes or they've been deleted already.
One last thing I couldn't find any nice pic of Cirdan. I found only the scene when it's about the three rings of the elves at the beginning of the movie and the scene at the end at the Grey Havens which he's really small in that scene.

btw How many avatars has Egalmoth changed?
That really amused me, I feel like when I change the TV channel.

Wow! Thx a lot!
But I couldn't do this part because I couldn't find the part "Colours>Colorize"

So this's what I got after I tried something different. Let's imagine how would this one look in game



I think it needs some works with the background as it's colour is a bit too light. But after I fixed it, it's still a bit weird to me

right instead of using layers>colour>colorize

take your cut out avatar, duplicate it, put it above the other layer, in the layers window, so you should have 2 of the same images, one above the other. Take the top one and use the replace colour tool to change the image to a brown, then lower the opacity until you get a little bit of the colour coming through from the unbrown image below, merge the two duplicate images and then you should have a good parchment effect.

I would say the bottom one is the better of the two. It looks a little brighter and add more focus to Gil-Galad with the increased blackness.

Edit: I've now tried it, but it seems to be hard for me to do.
Maybe what I could help this mod is just making the coloured portraits then leave for Egalmoth to do the rest or may be I might help him by cutting the portraits from the original images. The portraits above has been changed to the ones I've just done.

Also, which type of portraits is going to be in this mod, the coloured one or the one with parchment effect. Just want to make sure that we can identify the blue wizards.
Anyone wants to see the old ones, just ask me. They are still kept.

What should I do now?
A: Post the old portraits (the ones with colour)
B: Leave these as they are
C: Help Egalmoth and Wars of the East team by one of those I said
D: Anything?

Sorry for the double posting and sorry that I'm a guy who can't decide anything to myself.
If possible I hope someone will write a new tutorial for making portrait.
