i say take it out, especially if it'll allow you to add more to the mod! i never play with them using the mod anyways so i wont really miss them. they're imbalanced and they sorta draw away from the actual heros/characters in the game. i never used them for anything other than to recreate actual characters like imrahil (who is in the game now).

I 100% agree on taking them out completely. The whole purpose of a CaH (for me, at least) was to create a hero that EA didn't implement (Cirdan for example). You've implemented much more and better than they ever did, I don't think it's necessary to keep it around. Especially if it helps give you access to more heroes.

I honestly don't know to tell the truth.....

I mean, I'd love to create a hero that uses the new powers that you guys have produced but at the same time, I find myself seldom using CaH's.....

I voted to keep it as it is because I honestly didn't have a strong opinion. Someone mentioned that you could implement something new - if you could do that, then what 'new' feature would you create?

Leave it in. I don't particularly like it, but i can always untick the box all by myself. Don't take it away from those who want to have it.
Besides, who knows what's gonna happen. Maybe Nert and I will find the time to do the CaH-mod.

Anyway, it won't much matter what you do because it is not hard to put it back in if you take it out. :p

You have the same idea as mine. If we don't want CaH, we can't just untick the box and that's it.That's why we have that box. There're some people who love and want to play with CaH. :alien:

Just leave the thing in. Most of the people don't want it or really use it, so why should the modders go through the extra work of removing it when they could be working on balance issues, skins, etc. There are so many more ways to spend time. This issue should not be addressed until all of the base kinks are out of the mod. What kills me, though, about CAH's is that you can give them like 2x the attack, defence and hp of the best in the faction combined. All in one character. The only other thing that kills me is the stupid mount/dismount coloration and helm problems. Put Elendil's helm (not really his helm, just the imitated version of it) on a CAH. Change the armour color. Put the thing on a horse. You'll see what I meen. Helm disapears entirely, all the armour is set back to some default state.

We're discussing this because removing it frees up a lot of upgrades which we need for coding changes. Something will have to be done to free up upgrades, and removing it would be the simplest way. Alternatively we could go through and remove some features of it, or, we could try and redo it so that it used less upgrades but achieved the same thing.
So it is not really a waste of time, its kinda important... :xcahik_:

Must say, I never noticed the helm thing before...

well seeing it from this wiev, removing CAH is like lesser evil, one good thing needs to be taken for another new things can take place

even though i use CaH a lot ( got early rush one, and mid late game one ) i think it wont be such a big deal. just remove it and place your cool updates there " GO FOR IT " :xcahik_:
"Let this scar signify the first blow against the mortal world."
"From this seal shall arise the doom of men,"
"who, in their arrogance, sought to wield our fire as their own."
"Blindly they build their kingdoms upon stolen knowledge and conceit."
"Now they shall be consumed by the very flame they sought to control."
"Let the echoes of doom resound across this wretched world, that all who live may hear them and despair."

"Tremble, mortals, and despair! Doom has come to this world!"

Ok, if it frees up space and stuff, go right on ahead. I can sacrifice the now VERY limited amount of people that I believe were left out. Plus, it is annoying to have to go in and delete my brother's abusive abominations (seriously, who ever heard of an elf named Gildiral who had a green breastplate and a 2nd age helmet?).

wtf

;)

dude why not, FANTASY IS UNIMITED

for example i got human hero named Arrek ( though i use him rarely, mostly in normal Rotwk ), i just thrown some stuff on him, make it look silver like, added buffing abilities, mount and heroic charge, and up it goes into skirmish

(best hero i use most is early cheap rush game type hero - uruk hai, with only leadership and basic train units skill :xcahik_: with this early game dude buffing ma units, i take enemy brutal down in less than 9 mins. )

damn :( ill miss him, but if sacrificing him helps to add more cool things and ideas in, . . then i say . . . GO FOR IT !!!

If new stuff is added such as buffs and abilities, I'd trade my beloved CaH's for the stuff. I won't miss my stupid brother's pathetic abominations, though.

Personally I like the CaH's their great I even use a mod to give me an even greater range in powers. I tried to add the things from that mod to RJ's but the only thing lacking was behavior in one damn .ini file.

I'm begging you please don't remove it just trim or emprove. Thanks

I sort of like the CAH as it gives me the ability to add hero-types absent from the faction. For instance, I usually use an easterner with weapon toggle to give mordor an archer hero. Playing a lot with a buddy of mine, we both tend to identify a lot with our CAHs, treating them with special preference. Lately though I've tended not to use them, but I do understand why they are liked. Also some players might have a lot of loyalty for their CAHs, trying to gain them more in-game awards and such.

But if it's holding you back from making the factions more fun with more diversified powers, then I vote it as permissible to axe the CAHs. I'd not want to see it done just out of a hatred for CAHs, but if it needs to be done to free up powers (or whatever) it's fully understandable.

i think fast every1 here has somekind of his fawourite CaH hero, that is usefull for some special feautures that the race lacks, for example a troll hero for isengard, only hero that can do huge radius dmg and has area dmging powers.

( though i hate the cost system, my beloved uruk hero now costs 2x more then in BFME2, which is something for that i would hang people - mostly EA )

but you know its kinda renesance, trading old for new, just keep fingers crossed and hope the new will be worth enough to take over CaH place in game :p

I wanted to update everyone on this. I've been playing around with the upgrades and I have some left before I run out so CaH is spared so far. I will not remove it unless it is absolutely necessary.

Ah, that will be fixed in the next version. It's one of the horrible parts of the collector's edition that I did not remove.

If you hit the limit again, I vote take them out. Sure, at times they can be fun, but this mod adds so much that there really is no point keeping them. What would you have, create-a-heroes still present but limited new things in the mod, or create-a-heroes missing which you can still play with in the original but brand new stuff you haven't seen before and haven't played with before? I know what I'd choose...
And who doesn't want to see more overhauled elves? They're just awesome!
