Is there any way we can stop new people from posting things like, "Where do i start modding?"

No offence Carbonox but i think many people have asked this question before.

none of the tutorials are any help for someone just starting off... they don't make any sense. there should be a basic tutorial telling you how to mod if you don't know how to, because all of the current tutorials are for people who already know how to mod.

There is no quick and easy way to learn how to mod. Trust me, the main site has a tremendous amount of information that was not available to modders a year ago. Go through and read the beginner articles and try to mess with it on your own. The best way to learn modding is through trial and error. If you get stuck, that's where the forums come in. I know it is difficult to learn at first, but if you put in the time and effort, you will be surprised how far you will get with modding. :xcahik_: What are you trying to do?

in what way?
read the ones with 1 star level that have a high rating.
those should be easy to understand.

well actually i had an idea recently. i want to make walls without wall hubs in between, just one at either end. and also i'd like to try to make arrow towers on every spot instead of every other spot.

...well that shouldnt be too hard to do...
inside a factions ...........castlewalls.ini you should find this code, and change it to:
SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallHub
To
SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment
		SegmentTemplateName = IsengardCastleWallSegment

But then it might mess up the game so that the wall never ends...
but you should try it :xcahik_:

yes if you change that in the isengard's wall file then the pieces between the wall hubs will be MOTW'S wall ;)

wow, interesting! so i was thinking about changing a gondor soldier battalion from 15 guys to 100 in a 10 X 10 formation. then i would make a numenorean soldier battalion, they would be much more powerful than gondor soldiers (like 500 health and 200 damage) and they would be 25 in a battalion, a 5 X 5 formation.
