I used the FinalBig to try to edit lotr.str but it didn't work so I extract it and tried to change it to notepad but I can't change it. How do I edit it?

U have to find it at the English.big right? then I just extracted lotr.str but it's a unknown thing

yes it might be an 'unknown' file thing, but notepad can read and edit it

How to make it a notepad?

OK, extract the lotr.str file to your desktop, right-click and open it with the program called "Notepad", a little picture of a notepad will be next to it so you can't miss it, the file will open and then you can edit the content as you please.

It doesn't have it.... I right clicked it and there is like nothing

Double click on it, like you were opening a program, it will say something like:

"Please select program to open file with"

There will be a list, look for a program called "Notepad", click it, the file will open and you will be able to customize it. Just for information, what PC do you own (Mac, Windows XP, Windows Vista, etc.)

Window XP then I tried doing that to English and go to notepad and after I finished and try to open it in FinalBig it says Out of Memory lol

FinalBIG can't edit that file. You need notepad, I don't know if it works on others such as text editor. Notepad comes with every Windows XP, you should have it, unless you might have deleted the program. Keep trying, cause that is the only way to edit the lotr.str that i know off.

Well any other text editing program should be able to edit it

I guess Microsoft Word can edit it as well, i tried it once and it worked, it was a bit slow but i worked

When I tried to make it change it just pop out unknown again...

You gotta do what Geel and Wicked said, you need to open it with Notepad. then it will be editable. Yes the file is unknown but i can be open and edited with Notepad.

Those step did work but u were missing on step. Changing .txt to all files. Thanks for telling me that way!!! You ROCK!
