Yeah, the terrain, water and most buildings were..Bfme1 for obvious reasons tho Bfme2's graphics were pretty good.
Most units were crap.. especially the new elves and dwarves that looked like they came out of a toy game

Most buildings, yes ... but the fortresses were really crap, looking much too 'cartoonish' and 'fairy-tale' with all that eye-candy, and being way out of scale compared to the other buildings.Yeah, the terrain, water and most buildings were..Bfme1 for obvious reasons tho Bfme2's graphics were pretty good.

Well, it's been a long time, but as I recall only the Elven, Dwarven and Goblin fortresses were really crap.. The rest were nice, or atleast decent.. Sure, the scale were wrong, but in terms of art, they were quite Ok..Most buildings, yes ... but the fortresses were really crap, looking much too 'cartoonish' and 'fairy-tale' with all that eye-candy, and being way out of scale compared to the other buildings.
Angmar I can't remember, but that's in RotWK, which sucks all in all

BFME2 and Rotwk are shit, worst LotR games along with Conquest.
I dont agree to that. I think most people would surely prefer BFME2 if it had the units of BFME2 and the gameplay of BFME1.

Well of course no one would agree to that and I wouldn't be saying that if BFME2\RotWK had the same gameplay as BFME1. But guess what they don't But I really do think they are terrible games, I only have fun while playing mods for them, with bfme1 I have fun playing just the vanilla game.BFME2 and Rotwk are shit, worst LotR games along with Conquest.

I think the problem is, even if the games had BFME1 gameplay and BFME2 units, a lot of people would still complain about the BFME2 units. Thus, you are left with a shiny BFME1.BFME2 and Rotwk are shit, worst LotR games along with Conquest.

BFME 1 easily. It was the perfect marriage of the movies and a game, with all the proper voice acting and art. The gameplay was well thought out and interesting, and it was unique to every other copy-paste, build-anywhere RTS game. BFME1 is a RTS-based LOTR game. BFME 2 is a LOTR-based RTS game
BFME 2 was disappointing for me. The units were OP (especially pikes), and were created from gameplay needs, rather than staying true to the movies and books. Heroes were UP, besides CAH which were ridiculously strong. And because the went for a build-anywhere thing, the buildings were small, and easily destroyable The campaign, though an alright story, was too short poorly done. Why didn't they just do a similar campaign to BFME1, but based in the North? What is the point in levelling up and upgrading units if you're not even going to use them again?
That said, BFME2 definitely had some potential. The powers were quite fun (summoning the watcher always makes me smile ). The graphics and the buildings were very nice , especially the water and weather effects . Though for me, the best part of BFME2 was the WotR mode. It was semi-close to the BFME1 campaign, playing skirmishes to level up your army, and then moving on to the next territory. If real time units you made continued onto the LWM, then it would've been so much better.

That ... (beautiful phrasing, Haldir!)BFME1 is a RTS-based LOTR game. BFME 2 is a LOTR-based RTS game
BfMe1 shines, despite the better graphics of its sequels.

But either ways... The concept of Hero hordes were awsome (well personally, they could have had more than one power) and executed very well. I just wished that they left all the animations that they made were kept in:
(like the Infamous Monster slayer which Geel is still working on , Aragorns dwarf toss, Aragorns sword fight anim [when he is in BFME 1 in Amon Sul after you beat it...], and gimli's two handed axe throw [in BFME1's battle tutor]) there are a ton more... Including Balrogs choke incinerate thingy (Ringy or someone said that it was for lisence reasons? Dont really get that).
