What 'continent' or 'US State'?

Are these things even vaguely comparable??

True. However, it is also true that for me, and probably you, the difference between Japan and China feels smaller than the difference between France and Germany, though they are probably equal in reality.

I'm From Roanoke, Virginia. Here's a bit of my City's History if your interested. I like living here, it's kind of like living in the country and the city and there's always something to do.
