I'm going to retire, I have no time to rp anymore guys. Thaos can be taken over by anyone who's willing.

Best regards.

Sorry about that, but whatever your RL issues are, they take precedence, of course. You might want to write an exit post, if you so choose.

Drop by if you ever feel the need.

Its my PhD, taking up a little bit more time than loafing around doing nothing was. Like I said, if someone wants to take over Thaos he has some useful abilities.

*Good memory
*Excellent disguise skills
*Harder to emotionally influence than anyone else due to lifetime of being other people
*Reasonable fighter
*Excellent thief, trickster and rogue

If anyone wants to take him on be my guest, just run it past Vort first.

OK then Vithar, if you think you're up to it. However, I would like to clarify that I reserve the right to remove Thaos from your grasp should I feel it decreases the quality of your writing or provides any negative influence on your participation or whatever. But that hopefully won't be necessary. Try to develop Thaos as Dauth seemed to be doing if you can, just for continuity's sake as much as respecting intellectual property and whatnot.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

OOC post:

What the hell are you all talking about? Winter Vayu has not come back from the dead. As far as we know he's still happily dead as a doornail. I'd be grateful if you could edit him out of your posts. Where did this come from, anyway? Wait, I see, it was SWG. SWG, you're dead wrong. Stop spreading misinformation about my storyline. By the way, I'll post properly later if I can.

COPA EDIT For someone who is as uptight about OOC posts in the main thread as you, I'd think you'd've put this in the OOC thread... anywho, our characters don't know whether Vayu is dead or not. The possibility that he's back from the dead is totally viable in (at least Tom's) their heads. It adds to the mystery ;)

VORT again: I got confused, I think. Anyway, sorted now. The OOC posts are moved to the OOC topic and I've remembered what's going on. :)

OOC:I swear we knew Vayu was still alive, we found out somewhere, im sure of it. Thats when we also found out he was living on the isle of the Vyre. But maybe you told us in an OOC post, and i just got mixed up.

No, after a long search, i was right:

A Representative on the Chairman's right side proceeded to inform the group of what Arap Datrebil had learned. "I, like you, Lt. Kartaan, only recently returned to the Maughold. A group of my close friends and I investigated rumours of a new character upon the isle of the Vyre. These vicious creatures, while they occasionally roam the mainland of Arsencia, do not allow visitors to their islands to live for long. Tales of a sorceror thriving among the Vyre startled us, and we briefly landed on their shores. We repelled one attack by the Vyre, and promptly left the isle, but not before all of us noticed an unmistakable consciousness. Winter Vayu lives, and has made his home on the isle of the Vyre."

The Chairman continued, speaking swiftly, "This group defeated Vayu once. We do not know the inner workings of Winter Vayu's magic, but we can be assured that he will take revenge on us again. He is an enemy of all our races. If you value the peace and common good of Arsencia, you must do what you can to bring about his demise."

So we do know about vayu still being alive, just as i thought.

((all OOC posts in the main topic ftw! :good:))

Ah, right, I remember now. Well, he's not alive, they just think he is. Glad we've cleared that up. Winter Vayu ain't coming back until Chapter 3, I can guarantee you that. I'll explain what's going on when we get there.

Right. Because Neutron4ever said he wanted to join Arsencia but couldn't understand what was going on, I'm now going to post up a summary of what's going on at the moment, and what's happened previously.

- The group first met in a small town somewhere out to the south-east of Arsencia, close to Minotaur land. At this point the whole group was not there, only Theria [elf, female](Vortigern), Illyriel [elf, male](Fire Ze Missiles!), Tom Joad [deathknelf, male](Copaman), Zhar [technically human, male](some_weirdGuy), Shava [gnome, female](Rafv Nin IV) and Bazric [dwarf, male](Matias, now controlled by me, Vortigern). Zhar was introduced as evil and totally mad and the bonds of friendship were forged.
- Zhar wanted to find Winter Vayu, another powerful sorceror and leader of the Paladins, and the group went along with it for some reason, I can't remember what. Read Chapter 1 for full details.
- Other characters were introduced, including Vithar [elf-furya half-breed, male](Vithar Megilaglar), Thaos [human, male](Dauth, now Vithar too), Rom [minotaur, male](mike_), Nowe [drow, male](Nowe, though since disappeared), Arngrim [furya, male](Ash, also now vanished), Morionquetil [human, male](mike_ again), Varin [human, male](Taralom), Rindar [elf, male](ithilienranger732), Falk [human, male](Mórvír) and Brok [dwarf, male](The Best Guest). I think that's everyone.
- The group slew their way through the Maughold, the colossal fortress city, capital of the human kingdom of Envael and stronghold of the Paladins, eventually hunting down and narrowly defeating Winter Vayu, though at the cost of a great deal of emotional trauma and near-death circumstances. Again, read Chapter 1 for detail. It's all there, and includes some excellent writing, especially the very last post, which is necessary to understand what will happen later on, and to a certain extent what is happening now.
- Chapter 2 began in a tavern in the Maughold, though we soon went our separate ways (mike_'s idea) and all our stories from that part of history are documented in the "Sightseeing, suffering and separation" thread. We reunited in the town of Temora, where Rom was being kept as a slave in an underground gladiator arena. There was a great deal of killing in the following riot. We all had fun.
- Upon his death, thousands of Winter Vayu's creations had been released into the wild, magical melds of man and beast. We found out that Vayu was responsible for them and have a vague idea how. Our research, and the research of Shava's gnome friends, leads us to the isle of the Vyre (see here for details) in the northern sea, to which we go via Anharad, the citadel-under-construction of the alternative human kingdom, Anvar. That's where we are at the moment, which means an arrival right now, Neutron, would give you plenty of room for inventiveness in your entrance.
- This is to do with both the Vyre and the melds. All will be explained once we get there.

I'll do another one of these sooner or later, when it gets all confusing again. Basically, that's the gist of what's going on, I think. Also read the character topic for Zhar to see what we think of certain religious and magical matters of Arsencia.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Rindar is a bit of a psycho... he wants to kill Tom simply because he's a Deathknelf (Rindar's racist against them...). See his "History and Lore" topic for details of why. :)

Tom isn't anyone to fuck with. He is the last king of the Deathknelve, commander of the Reclaimer's Army, and an uber (read: one of the best in Arsencia) swordsman.

His awesomeness with swords comes from two sources - his Whisperblade training, which is an exceptionally lethal blade dance, and his twofold birth magic. Some Deathknelve are born with a special kind of magic, but only the DK's born to the four royal houses have these magics. Tom got both his mother's and his father's magics, so he can set things on fire with an otherworldy blue flame which draws from his soul, and he has a quicker reaction time etc because of his father being a Daggerweave.

Deathknelve can also focus to a point where their perception of time slows down, allowing them to do crazy sh*t. Unfortunately, the deathknelve feel the energy-draining effects of magic more rapidly than other races, so if they go all out, they spend a few days asleep, go into a coma, or die. Tom has an uncanny ability to avoid the last two :)

One thing with the Vyre. So far they seem like fairly mindless creatures, but with them being a race you can choose as a character(and one i plan to choose after Zhar, whenever that may be) maybe we should start making them talk more and wield weapons or whatever? make them a bit more character-like?

That said, I did try :p hopefully y'all enjoyed my attempt at a normal conversation between the two ;)
