but there was a very clear image of Winter Vayu in hell. I saw him, chained to a rock, flat on his back, vultures circling above him. I even saw one of them drop down and slash his guts open.

Isn't this the sort of torture that happens to the good guys? Like Prometheus?

Read the last post of Chapter 1. There are a variety of punishments, Winter Vayu just got this one. Also, I'm working on the theory that the gods saw Prometheus as a bad guy, and thus punished him like one.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

((you were the one that sent us on a mission to re-kill Vayu who had taken up residence on the isle of the Vyre. That is what we were doing before you wanted to get sidetracked. And Vayu was Zhars focus from the beginning. You are the one who also said Vayu didn't go to hell, that the eternal snatched him away. So unless you are saying the eternal put him back in hell again after 'saving' him from it, and that the man on the isle of vayu who was unmistakably Vayu was some other person, then you are going all contradictory.

If you are saying Vayu is in hell, then i could edit my posts where the demon tells Zhar he is not and to redeem himself by getting vayu. You should then edit all mention of him away then, especially when the gnomes went and told us about Vayu and all that other stuff.

Im trying to keep with my character and also follow what you have told us. You cant just change your mind and pretend like it didn't happen, thats called Red Alert 3  [and makes me get confused too]))

Edit: opps, yeah, all OOC post... move this as you will

((I'm flagrantly posting an OOC post in the main topic, too, just because I can :shiftee2: Here's the PM you sent me last month.

OK, so here's the plan. I would much appreciate it should you be so kind as to have your friends in Arap Datrebil reveal to us that Winter Vayu travelled to the isle of the Vyre (nor'north-west) in order to utilise an artefact contained thereupon which enabled him to create the melds that now plague Arsencia. Our next journey will take us there, via Anharad (north-east from the Maughold), wherein we shall encounter Taralom's character, Varin, and Mórvír's character, Falk. More will be revealed at a later date through various revelations and visions and visitations and whatnot.

Thanks in advance for your assumed compliance. :omg:

Vortigern.

I'm pretty confused, right now.))

OK, Ravnin, you misunderstood what I meant. I didn't mean he was there now, I meant he went there ages ago. That's where he found the artefact with which he created the melds, which, if you think for a moment, you will realise were created long before he died. Why does that preclude him from being dead now?

SWG, why don't you go back and read the last post of Chapter 1? He is in hell. He will be suffering there for a while before he is considered to have been redeemed enough to walk the earth once more. It's actually very clear.

So, to sum up: at the moment, Winter Vayu is in hell. Clearly and inescapably. He won't be forever, but he is for now. The melds were created with an artefact in a temple on the isle of the Vyre, which Vayu discovered some years ago and used then. He is now dead. Dead as a fucking doornail. OK? He will play no part in this Chapter, other than in memory and legacy. Now leave the poor bastard alone to get his innards ripped out by vultures.

I assumed he had finished that punishment, as i again point you to where you said:

A Representative on the Chairman's right side proceeded to inform the group of what Arap Datrebil had learned. "I, like you, Lt. Kartaan, only recently returned to the Maughold. A group of my close friends and I investigated rumours of a new character upon the isle of the Vyre. These vicious creatures, while they occasionally roam the mainland of Arsencia, do not allow visitors to their islands to live for long. Tales of a sorceror thriving among the Vyre startled us, and we briefly landed on their shores. We repelled one attack by the Vyre, and promptly left the isle, but not before all of us noticed an unmistakable consciousness. Winter Vayu lives, and has made his home on the isle of the Vyre."

The Chairman continued, speaking swiftly, "This group defeated Vayu once. We do not know the inner workings of Winter Vayu's magic, but we can be assured that he will take revenge on us again. He is an enemy of all our races. If you value the peace and common good of Arsencia, you must do what you can to bring about his demise."

Which you said after that post, in the next chapter, after we had our long break from being a group. So it seemed kinda reasonable that his punishment time was up and he was now doing what you said he was doing, which was that he had "made his home on the isle of the Vyre".

You have caused alot of confusion. Maybe you should have waited before the gnomes said this, if you wanted vayu in chapter 3 (i was thinking from the start 'why is vayu back already, we should atleast have one chapter while he is gone before he comes again' so its good to know)

Seen as i cant be bothered to edit all my posts, especially when no one else will and it will muck up alot of things that happened, lets just go on from this point that vayu is still in hell...
edit: i edited the post where the lord of hell told zhar vayu didn't go to hell, it now says vayu didn't go to him, and zhar has to find vayu. So the eternal took vayu to hell, but didn't hand him over to Zhars master(the demon lord), so he is sorta being punished 'in secret'. Zhar thinks vayu is on the isle like the gnomes said he was, but in truth vayu is still in hell like you want vort.

there, i think everything pretty well solved then on my end?

Ah. In that case, Ravnin misinterpreted what I meant and I didn't notice. Let's say that the magic he used there was so powerful that his aura still lingers, months after his death, and it fooled the gnomes. But he's not there and he's definitely dead. I apologise for the confusion.

Sorry about that. I misinterpreted your PM and wrote according to what I thought was said. Anyway, this whole escapade's over now, right? So we can get back to whatever it is we were actually doing.

Ah, vort, you wrote the post i am quoting, not rav.

But its ok, it would probably just mean that we still think he might be there, but of coarse not know for sure.
Glad that that is sorted then.

On the condition that he bears the badge of Carai Deathbringer. For plot purposes, of course.

By the way, thank you for posting, Vort. I'll throw something up either later today when I get home, or tomorrow.

Taralom, two things: first off, shouldn't Varin really be more concerned with killing the mercenaries responsible for murdering his parents? And second, the fight starts when one of you guys posts next and gets the whole thing rolling. I gave you the setup, now you guys have to do your part and get this party started.
