The Melds will be added to the species roster, yes, but that's not the new species I meant. It's actually going to be lizardmen, who are not like the reptilian melds. The melds are all 9-12 feet tall, massively built and overpowered, designed to crush things with their little fingers. The lizardmen are from a different continent, 5-6 feet tall but have several natural advantages. More will be explained in time.

And yes, there will be opportunities to travel to new lands. The southern continent is opening up and the passage to the east is also becoming easier to travel. The world is growing, my friends.

Anyway, I'm going to post up a brief history of the three-year interlude and explain what's changed properly. Give me a couple of days to deal with my essay and exam revision and fit it in around that, but I'll have it up before we begin afresh.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Thanks.

Be warned if you want to make a meld, Jimmy. They are unnatural creatures, and still not well understood by the majority. If people see a meld wandering around they may jump to conclusions and reach for the flaming brands before you can explain you mean them no harm, so be prepared to write that in. I hope you can do that justice, because it could potentially be awesome in a wholly different manner to most RPG characters. Think Frankenstein's monster complex here.

Oh totally, like no trust towards a character and earning your right to be known. Something of that sort. It'd be aside from my dwarf though, i want to concentrate on him kind of lol. Oh, do you mind if i kind of make a back story for Donlokie in the History/Lore section, like (for example) Zhar's diary. :)

Not at all. Although I'm going to archive all the stuff in there first and start over, so don't make anything yet. But start writing it, that'd be great, just don't post it yet.

More than 'earning your right to be known', I was thinking 'avoiding being pitchforked by unthinking peasants because you look scary and threatening', but it's all good. :)

Yes. Yes it was. The four houses of the Deathknelve were due to be united under his monarchy and go to war against the giant super-powerful we were going to be up against, as were alll the Minotaur, most of the elves, dwarves, Drow and gnomes. There probably would have been some Vyre on our side too. That's how epic it would have been. I don't think it would have worked too well as an RP though. Maybe it'll be better if I just write it myself and you all go 'Ooh, awesome'.

Writing it yourself is fine with me, see the PM I sent you.

If you're adding lizard men as a new race(i like the idea btw) i think you should remove the option of reptilian melds.

Just to add more individuality when it comes to picking between them. You could maybe have it that there are on mammal melds.
(so we can have stuff like wolf, bear, tiger, etc as melds, but not lizard melds as that takes away from lizard men's individuality)

That makes sense, I guess. Fair enough, that shall be done. They were going to be pretty different, though, but I guess this way they can be more different. Coolio.

Good news, everyone! I've been doing a bit of reshuffling and preparation, and have put up some new information about races (see here), some new information about magic (here) and an account of the new politics of the human part of Arsencia (here). You may recognise some of the place names from the History.

Enjoy!

And SWG, I have finally given into your suggestion and submitted basic classes for each race (see here). The post says so, but I would remind you all again: this list is not exclusive. They are suggestions, is all, suggestions of common ideas, and you can mess about with them as you see fit. Your character can be basically whatever, these are just to prod you in the vague direction of something. Imagination is recommended. I cannot stress that enough.

See this post for the latest detail, this time on some of the religious and magical orders. If you can come up with any that you think warrant a place in that list, PM them to me and I'll put them in, although I may alter a few details, no promises there. I'll let you know first, though, if I do want to change anything.

The message to take from this is that I want this to be a collaborative creation, so you guys are more than welcome to contribute anything you think will improve the game and the world. :)

Welcome back, Mike. I think we can all agree that your return is bangin'. So, new character(s) or the return of one or both of the previous two for you?

I'm not sure. I'd like to retain my previous characters (and their "supporting cast" :)), as I'm quite attached to them. But I also feel like it would be good for me and the RP to give something new a try... hrm.

Well, Maximilian has taken a permanent commission as the Grand Marshal of the Valentine Mark, so he's probably out of the picture. I think it might be good to bring Morion back, though, I always got the feeling there was a lot more to his character than we had seen yet. Still, it's up to you.

I'm going to submit a handful of character ideas that are currently appealing to me, all of them part of the Reformed Order of the Stricken Hammer - if you're okay with this, of course, Vort.

In my mind I'm picturing the Palatinate as having been broken in the aftermath of the Siege of the Maughold, many of the Paladins realizing that they had been manipulated by Vayu into leaving their appointed path. The Reformed Order is but one of many, albeit more successful than its contemporaries, such Orders reestablished by the Paladins as an attempt at redemption. It is quite different from the previous Palatinate in that it encourages its members to literally fight fire with fire - so long as they do their actions in the name of the Light. It has accepted members of many different races in the years since the great Siege of the Maughold, ranging from half-Drow Magi to Men of the South and all in-between. It has several smaller groups devoted to special tasks inside of it; everything from daemon hunters to anti-necromancers and simple translators. As I said, several of the characters I'm contemplating are members of this Reformed Order.

And you're utterly correct about Morion :)

That sounds good to me. Like I said, PM me the details of the Order and I'll go over them and then post them up in the Tome of Librera. The more variety we can get in there, the better.

And yes, the Palatinate was disbanded by royal decree and made illegal in Envael, which is why there is now a group of Elven Paladins (order founded by Illyriel) running about the place doin' good and takin' names. But it stands to reason at least some of the Paladins were in it for the do-goodin', not just the shiny uniform and the telling people what to do part.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Need some opinions because I'm on the fence myself.

Should I bother playing WoW again? It was fun and things when I used to play, but as I'm going to be a very broke Uni student soon, I don't know if I'll be willing to pay 15 bucks a month. And of course there's the question of schoolwork and social life and all that.
