Had three essays due in the last two weeks, got three exams and another essay deadline coming up within the next month, then I'll be done. Goddamn effort.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

You know in cartoons when they get buried under a ton of rubble, and there's the one hand sticking out the top, twitching?

picture that, but the rubble is assignments >.<

Funny, everyone's busy at once.

End of the year, so everybody needs to pass exams and stuff.
In my case, I need to pass my exams, so I can go to college next year.

My official date of freedom is 8th June, but give me a couple of days after that to chill out and generally recuperate. Also to drink heavily and commit to forgetting everything I learned this year. Man, I love summer.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Guys, I have come to the conclusion that we've all forgotten too much of what was going on before to carry on with the previous storyline, so when we restart this I'm going to jump the timeline forward a few months, maybe a couple of years even. All your characters will still be alive and well (if you want) or you can have someone new. Maybe we can attract a bit of outside interest too, now that the world is more defined. May even go for parallel storylines and a bit of freeform (if SWG's okay with that :p) to pull in a few of the more conservatively-minded RPGers.

I'll do my best over the summer to write up a satisfactory ending to Chapter 3 (I might even write Chapter 4 at some point, I had it all planned out) and then we can all be happy and closure-ified. Do we consider this proposal sufficiently rock'n'roll to pass muster?

I suppose so.

Sieges are the RPG equivalent of poison, they always seem to cause the thing to die.
(Seriously, i don't think there's been a single siege that hasn't resulted in the RPG its in dieing. Ever.)

and freeform! NNNOOOOOO......

I suppose as long as you act as a guiding force or there's a structured progression to follow, otherwise (just like sieges always ending in rpg death), the whole thing will stagnate.

So, are you going to make a post on whats happened in between? are we going off the idea that after the siege we all went our separate ways? and whats going to have happened with Vayu then?

I'll write that up, as I said. There will be a satisfactory conclusion to the Winter Vayu story. And I'm not thinking massive freeform, just a couple of adjacent storylines, probably led by characters of mine. Then again, maybe they could be led by other people if we can convince enough folks to be a part of it. And I think in future I will indeed avoid sieges. They do not favour progress.

Some of us may have gone our separate ways, some may not. Depends if you want to keep your character for the restart or if you feel like having someone new.

yes, there has been. In a dutch RPG that I have participated in :p

see above statement :crazed:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news or anything, but I was kind of planning for Varin to die at the end of this chapter.

That's cool, I'll work it into my ending and, assuming you'd like to stick around for the reincarnation, you can make a new character. :p Did you guys ever get around to writing out Zhar and Varin's big magical fight scene? Because if so, send it to me and I'll use it, in all its glory.

nope, since we only had the outlines of the fight at the time the writing stopped.

Was Ch. 4 going to be the chapter involving Tom's massive army taking back his kingdom? Just wondering :p

@ zhar & varins fight:

Yeah, we only got the outline down, as we were going to flesh it out as we went along. I think we pm'd the outline to you.

I'm to busy right now to be able to really do anything with it. You could either flesh it out yourself, or just leave it as just a rough outline of what happened. Taralom and I could create a thread later on (when i finally have the time, no idea when that will be) about what happened in the fight.

I'll resend you the fight outline anyway though.

@ taralom: yeah, but i'm talking about here on revora. Other places don't count.

Was Ch. 4 going to be the chapter involving Tom's massive army taking back his kingdom?

Yes. Yes it was. The four houses of the Deathknelve were due to be united under his monarchy and go to war against the giant super-powerful enemy we were going to be up against, as were alll the Minotaur, most of the elves, dwarves, Drow and gnomes. There probably would have been some Vyre on our side too. That's how epic it would have been. I don't think it would have worked too well as an RP though. Maybe it'll be better if I just write it myself and you all go 'Ooh, awesome'.

SWG, in answer to the timeline question as what you mentioned in your PM, we'll be about three years on from Chapter 3. The world has changed dramatically, especially given how little time has passed. The balance of power will have shifted, there'll be a new species present, and there'll be a whole new theatre of action. All will be explained properly, don't worry.

And I think I will put together your big ol' fight scene. Should be fun.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Oh, my bad. I did indeed approve your dwarf, I was just curious about the size of the axes, but if they're hand-axe sized, that's fine. Small enough to hang from a belt and not impede one's walking is perfectly acceptable. And it's not wolf-men. Sorry.

New species? *crosses fingers for some wolf-man action*

We already have wolf men(and bear men and lizard men and any other varieties of half-creatures). They're the recently added race called Melds. Not sure if they've been updated into the character creation outlines but they've been added since they gained sentience along with the Vyre race in one of the chapters.

and there'll be a whole new theatre of action.

By this do you mean we're moving on to different lands? (not in Arsencia/different part of Arsencia)?
