Phoenix, since some people have problems downloading it from ModDB, would you mind if I upload it on my FF account and provide a link for it? I'd appreciate speedy response, since I won't do anything without your permission, and preventing some players from playing this wonderful mod seems to be a sin :p

I just encountered the Banda Gora. That thing pissed me off so bad... two shiny new Acclamator VIs gone...

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.

Well I have been playing the core worlds, and I love it. I started at tech one as the empire , and I have to research the venator. I'm pretty sure the had venators before the end of the clone wars. And where did you see the Banda Gora? I haven't encountered it yet.

Malastare. (Inner Rim.)
The thing has got these incredibly powerful turbodisruptors (TD) that I've never even heard of. Judging by what happened there, each shot was more powerful than the Tector's heavy octuple batteries, had a longer range, and bypasssed shields. I wouldn't have expected to lose my ships that fast to anything but a dreadnought or hypervelocity gun. The Carrack-class missile ships probably didn't help either.

Also, the Verpines at the Roche asteroids seem to have Nebulon-Bs with scaled-down TDs and a Venator with a proton beam. Also a lot of fighters/bombers/stuff.

Bando Gora are undeadish lookin things from Starwars Bounty Hunter, they were led by Komari Vosa and had incredibly powerful weapons but were very weak. Although they inhabited the fourth moon of Bogden not Malastare.

The Banda Gora I encountered is a dreadnought-class ship with insane firepower over Malastare. Trust me. Try attacking the place.

Welcome to the lovely world of illegal warships. The Banda Gora is one of about 10 evil pirate super-flagships. Each one is named and each one has a separate ability.

There are lots of illegal ships. None as bad as that one though (apart fromt the other 8)

I'll talk to PR and ask when I should post about this. (It's pretty much written).

As to the Verpine on Roche, their starship fame (tinkering) is well known, so I assumed the Verpine made the first Venator II Star Destroyer protoype as seen in ROTS.

Keep an eye out for my next post in a few days.

Ghost.

Too bad Galactic Conquest is virtually unplayable.

I submitted it to FF a long time ago, but they haven't done anything with it . I guess I'll have to bug one of the admins to post it.

This is still a game. I can't give them everything they "should" have to start with; that would add at least 8 more ships to Tech 0. If you want to get technical, the Republic had Venators then, but not the Empire. Consider it a restructuring choice for the New Order, which didn't really appear to build any new Venators at all.

In the Rise of Darth Vader, Mon Mothma or Bail Organa complained that Palpatine had begun mass producing the IMPERIAL (and presumably TECTOR) classes. Perhaps the PR cost to research and build VENATORs two years after RotS could be explained as a cost to re-start old Clone Wars production lines? This sort of problem occurs in the RL defense industry all the time...

It seems quite reasonable - the Venator class has been replaced in its function with Imperial class and smaller Victory class, thus the shipyards has been redirected to produce new models of ships.
The same appears for example in modern production of tanks, when the producers are given small orders just to keep them production lines open and working, as once closed they may be veery difficult to start over again. The same is with ship production - for example modern Arleigh Burke class that replaced Spruance class; although still in service and quite capable, the Spruances can't be produced again, as the shipyards have been directed towards building the Burkes, and it is almost impossible to order and build Sprouances again (even the engines are completely different).

Loving what I'm seeing from the MOD after downloading v1.1, but I keep seeing people referencing v1.1.1, and am wondering where I download the patch?

You don't. 1.1.1 is the community name for the current version of 1.1. It isn't actually a different version.

Phoenix said that the file download site wouldn't take his updated version unless he renamed it. He's said that there is no version 1.1.1 technically. It's all v1.1

Hi guys!
One question: is the "current" download file of PR 1.1 just a "plain" 1.1.1 or it is now the "lag-reduced version"??

Yeah, I've seen it... and checked it out after installing the folder - it's still almost 1,5 MB large...
Any idea when the "cut" version might be released?
Until then I'm still reduced to playing only 1.0... though it's not that bad at all... just a taste of what can be hidden when 1.1.2 (or whatever name it has) is finally released...

Quite a bit, except that the AI still kept beating me, so I opted for campaign.
