The same guy played in episode VI as in the new trilogy, but I think the guy in the original episode V was different.

I wish the episode III makeup looked more like the original, though. It's just not as cool.

Hey zachrb,

I also made some palantir portraits and buttons. Maybe we could join forces and together we will rule the galaxy... uhm, I mean the TotR-Artwork. ^^

If one is already acceptable, then I got the dds-file with everything ready to send it to a Mod-Member. ^^

The image of Palpatine in the original (theatric) version of Episode 5 was a composited image of an actor and a chimpanzee. ;)

I'd like to do some hero power and spell pictures. They are more challenging and less boring than the portraits for me.

Kashyyyk is coming along well. Here it is so far.

You only use one texture for grass, one for cliff and one for rock. Makes it plain and less exciting.

remember Kashyyyk is supposed to be covered entirely with tress the ground almost impossible to discern

Not necessarily. ^^
There're still many many new Units which require 2D-Art.

Like Annullus said for example:

oh btw we need button images for droidikas trade federation battle droids and basic clone troopers

So, if you got any good pictures for them, then some buttons from you would be great. :D

I'm currently working on more grass textures. I think I have 19 total textures to use on the whole map. After all the texturing is done it should look pretty good. I think I have a good set of textures that will look great together. After the trees are added, it will look really great, though.

What about for 2d art, each faction had their own art style. For instance, instead of the plain parchment Palantir portraits they have in the game, each faction would have a unique style or background?

Now that sounds pretty cool!
If you could also change the palantir globe to something more starwarish it would be awesome. Even better if the change could be according to each faction (hmmm, not sure that's possible, though).

I also volunteer to do artwork for one faction if you need me to. Doesn't sound like a lot of work, really, and I'm sure I can do a good job with the graphics ;)

I'm just going to point out that when considering hosting applications, I'd consider 2D art about as relevant as techtrees... ie barely.

Hmmm... That's interesting.

If I knew what 2d art to do, I would make some. Perhaps a style should be picked so there aren't all these conflicting images. I say that needs to be done before everyone just goes and makes whatever they want.

Consistency gives a very professional feel to things.


Alright, the grass texturing for the Kashyyyk map is just about done.

It looks nice, the only thing i think that you have to put on the map are the wood-towers from the wookies.

Yes, quite possibly. I'm not sure, I haven't looked at trees at all yet. I still have to do the sand textures, too.

Do you think there's a little too much contrast in some of the textures? Two of them seem to stand out a little more than the rest. I might try to find some better ones.

This isn't really meant to be where the battle of Kashyyyk was. That was by the city (I don't remember its name right now), so I'm not sure what kinds of structures need to be placed on it and whatnot.

Anyways, I'll probably just pass it in to you guys to put on a few additional structures. What are the Capturable buildings like for the mod?
