I say you don't give her a name until she's like 7 and you can tell what she's gonna be like when she's older :crazed: that way, you don't miss the mark with the name.

Or, you could change it when she's older. Call her 'Mike's Daughter' until she's old enough to earn her own name. :crazed: Or call her Child One. Guaranteed to bring about awkward questions concerning how many more children you're expecting.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Or, borrowing from Vort's idea, name her Child #(insert number here). That way, you can make up all kinds of fantasmical stories as to what happened to the other siblings, to keep her in line :crazed:

@rav: You little rebel kid :p

And yes Elliot = guy. Who cares if it confuses the kid at first? They will get use to it(just explain about how crappy their other name is, and how much better this one is :p), They may even get more use to the name you call them/like it better and then you win that way ;)

a Number would be funny. Keep giving them all this fantastical and conflicting stories about it, just on the verge of being believable to them. I remember when i use to ask my uncle Alan how part of his thumb got cut off(he is missing the last joint of it), and he would always tell a different story each time about how a polar bear, after the coldness of the icecream he was eating, jumped out of a dumpster and attacked him when he went to the city one time, or other equally crazy stories.
Those were great, because i always sort half believed him, till i grew old enough to realise how preposterous the stories really were. :D

Wow. Didn't mean to get the RP community idea-making :p

My original thought was 'Felicia Nicole'. Felicia being a beautiful name to me (which, if she takes after her mother in any way will suit her (har har har)) and Nicole because that's the mother's middle name as well. Seeing as I'm named after my dad.. yeah. But she rejected it outright on the basis that it doesn't suit her race.. I also tried to compromise on the middle name (which she picked as it's her GODDAMNED BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD THAT WILL NEVER BETRAY HER BECAUSE SHE HASN'T IN THE TWO YEARS SHE'S KNOWN HER YEAH's middle name) when I tried to change it to Marie (French pronunciation).

Ugh.

Wow...Hope things improve for you. I think I'll wait for that kind of...fun...until after I married. Well, that is, if I am ever married. Not the point though.

I would hate not being able to have a say in the name of my child...A name means alot to me, usually because it somehow fits the personality of the bearer. As for me: Michael = "Who is like God?" Which was a battle cry from Heaven's Army...How that fits me...I'll get back to you on that one.

@Vort: So, what age would you say I am?

And be happy you're not mike :p

WOAH! It's Elven, outside of T3A! :p

On a more serious note, I hope things work out for you, Mike, but I doubt they will. But maybe that's just my innate cynicism talking.

As a friend of mine once said, "Twenty minutes of fun is not worth twenty years of alimony."

And I'd guess that you're, say, seventeen, Vithar. You don't take pleasure in fiendishly immature things like calling yourself the Vermin of Revora or honoring people in your sig, and yet you seem rigid, bookish and restrained enough not to be in uni (people loosen up there, or so I've heard). And I don't think that you're over twenty-two.

I'll wait to see what Vort says, if anything about my age, although, I'll say that you are close, but not dead on in regards to my real age, Ravnin.

Yeah, i'd say you're around my age somewhere.

Mike, just tell her that Some Weird Guy said to use your name suggestion and she'll fall right into line ("Well if some weird guy said so then i guess we have to...")

Vithar, I'd put you at 16. I really wouldn't have thought you're old enough for uni, but you're not too far away. Some people loosen up at uni, but some don't. I didn't, but only because, in the words of my old physics teacher, if I were any more laid back I'd be a vegetable. :p

Moral of the story as I see it: never engage in a relationship with someone who doesn't have a good sense of humour. That's the key. You guys obviously all like messing around and occasionally having something entirely unproductive to do, so you need someone who appreciates the lazier side of life.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Hey! :good:

Nah, its not that. They mainly guess from comments you make on your personal life(eg. mike having a kid made his age guess go way up) and how you act in the forum. If you act like i little kid then they are going to think you are one(but you dont act like a little kid, i am just saying).
