Ok, I just remembered we had a topic where we pitted different character from Tolkien's work against each other, and passionately debated a single question...

Who Would Win!

So, first up...

Boromir versus Éomer.

DISCUSS!

Hmm...

Well, Boromir does appear to be very powerful in the book, but think about this; he got killed by a group of Orcs. Granted, he killed a whole lot and was very heroic and all, but Éomer survived the entire Battle of the Pelennor without getting a single scratch. Of course, those Orcs there weren't all attacking him at once, but it's something to think about.

I'd say Boromir, even on horseback. Boromir would have some more actual combat experience and the eagerness and willingness to go through with killing people. Gondor was involved in constant skirmishes at the time and he was leading many warbands.

I would have to go with Boromir as well. He killed what, scores of uruk-hai before he died, partly when he was riddled with arrows? And uruk-hai>orcs that Eomer faced at Pelennor. And the fact Eomer was mounted for a large portion of the battle and Aragorn came to his rescue.
The orcs were dismayed at the coming of the Rohirrim, and again at Aragorn's ships. Boromir's horn at first did the same thing, but eventully drove the uruk-hai to anger.
Plus Boromir was likely stronger than Eomer, and more experienced.
So I'd say Boromir>Eomer.

In that light, I'd have to agree.

Ok, so... what about... Aragorn versus Imrahil?

I wouldn't be too quick there, Imrahil was a lot older then Aragorn and still remained unharmed throughout the battle of the Pelennor, and him and his riders rode out several times against overwhelming odds.

I think so, actually.
I can't decide, but remember Legolas and Gimli both though highly of Imrahil. Don't jump too quickly to Aragorn.

Technically Aragorn was older, but he was more pure-blooded then Imrahil so his lifespan was greater. If their estimated lifespans were the same, Imrahil would be older. My point is, he had long passed his peak and was still very strong. Aragorn was pretty much at his peak.

Imrahil, I'd say. He undoubtedly had more combat experience. Aragorn spent much of his life wandering the wilderness; most of his fights were mere duels against people who he far outclassed. Imrahil, living as close to Mordor as he did, and being a Gondorian nobleman, would have fought many battles against orcs.

.....orcs which he "far outclassed." So both of them fought people that were beneath them. Not helpful in determining the victor.

Does it ever say if Imrahil was ever under any real attack before Pellenor?.

Why does age matter that much? the body wearies in age.
Aragorn started "rangering" when he was quite young he would be very skilled in combat.

Aragorn for the Win.

I would say Aragorn too, he is Dunedain after all. However, I think that both him and Imrahil have some Elf in them no?

Aragorn served in Gondor's army for quite a while. Also he is very adept at surviving on his own. No matter the battlefield, i think he is far superior to Imrahil.
