I've just started with the elven faction, after the dwarves. The elven faction, due to the amount of cities and reigns they had in Beleriand, I splited up the factions in four minifactions, that's what I have written about it:

NOTE ABOUT ELVEN MINIFACTIONS or Reigns:
When you start the game with the elves, you start with an unoperative fortress in which you can choose among four minifactions. Depending on
which minifaction you choose, you'll get different units, buildings and upgrades. Then, in your fortress, you'll be able to build the others
minifactions. In fact, I want to make it totally required to win the game, since factions like Gondolin won't get siege weapons or the economy
of nargothrond won't be very good.

NARGOTHROND (great siege)

1. UPGRADES
-Walls
-Towers on walls (Walls needed)
-Catapults on the main fortress
-Heavy Armor (Less speed)
-Mithril Armor (No less speed, more expensive)
-Improved weapons (equal forged blades)

2. UNITS
-Nargothrond Guards (Spearmen with shield)
-Nargothrond Archers
-Nargothrond Workers (Cheap infantry, build mines)

-Trebuchet (Great against buildings)
-Ballista (Great against units)

(Must say that the nargothrond siege weapons are the best ones of the elven faction)

3. BUILDINGS

Since the power Nargothrond resides basically in the main building
and since Nargothrond was a underground fortress, they just have one exterior building)

-Mines. (It has got an upgrade called Dwarven Workers, which improves the output of the mine)

GONDOLIN (Great infantry)
(nothing done yet, my idea is making the base just like a bfme 1 base)

DORIATH (Great economy)

HITHLUM (Great defense)

Some people told me about splitting up the Sindar and the Noldor faction. After thinking about it, I decided not to make it.
It would require a lot of work and time. In fact, I deleted one minifaction of the elven faction (initialy I wanted to make himring too) because
the mod is still at 50 % and I would like to finish it some day.

Finally, I post some shots of what I have done so far with the Nargothrond reign:

LOL that's true ;) Didn't notice it. Now it's fixed in the game.
The icons are not the final ones neither.

Going to be awesome! ;)

Maybe Nargothrond could have a 'build-anywhere' building that's a lone outpost on a forested hill? They had them in the CoH :crazed: and would be interesting for gameplay :shiftee:

But yeah, looking good. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Looks great, through i have to point out that it would be much better if the mapping of the skins on the walls fit together without making that visible seam ;)

I rather like the massive nature of the structure. Adds a large scale feel to the game. Also feels more like a "fortress" go figure ;)

Nice work Morgoth. I'm glad your keeping the elves realms distinct instead of clumping them into two groups (noldor and sindar), there is just too much there to do it like that. I've been pulling for something like what you have in the wars of arda mod, but I have very little support. Also I suppose it works out better like this when the entire mod is about the 1st age, are you going to have it so that what ever faction we choose becomes our main faction, or will they be equally weighted no matter when you get them (I am mostly talking about units). Great work again.
Cheers,
MasterSilver

Awesome fortress. I do think it should be at least a little bit smaller. Just so you can see the top.

But great work! Can't wait for the next update. :p

Bad news: My comp has broken down and now it's getting repaired. No worries anyway: The hard disk doesn't seem to be damaged and even if it was damaged I made a copy securty two days before.
