Ah, yes, i also readed t was from epic, and looked for its true size. Then i found picture where it was compared to turret and i was like, thats too big. then i found out it was Leman RussAh no. Capitol Imperialios is purely Imperial and, like, Steel Legions, is afforded more the Super Heavy Machines look which Space Wolves is NOT about. Hell.. the Capitol is like 2-3 city blocks in size as it carries a few Lemans as a mobile battle carrier. That isn't at all "Wolfy" -- its more Imperial which are known for insanely large vehicles.

speaking of massive things: has anyone else seen the cover for the new SW codex? there is a big-arse wolf pelt on one guys back
on a related some of the new mdels look lovely (some less so - the wolf rider )
On the Capitol Imperialis/ Leviathan - Thud's already said it. Would make an interesting slow Monolith style HQ for another Imperial race though.
Haven't seen the new cover Scout - show me! My local GW guy told me it's October bound. And yes - big wolf pelts are cool - and I realised it doesn't have to be only wolves - bear is also mentioned in the fluff (Wolfblade - am reading it now).
Am currently working on a further evolution of the WS bow idea - but will show pics first I think...

Most other things are more or less in line with our current visions. Not quite sure how Wolf Claws differ from Lightning Claws, but am sure we can integrate.
Some nice visual aspects - I do like the space wolf on the cover - could definitely use those round shoulder shields. The Fenrisian Wolf on his shoulder's is bloody huge!
The bear cloaks are mentioned somewhere in Wolf Blade - it jumped out of the page at me somewhat, and it gives me another visual option to play with. One can have too much of a good thing with wolf pelts.
The full pelt cloak - ie. all four paws + head and tail - always looks great in pictures, caught by the wind etc, but never quite works on the models somehow... The two paws at the pack would not hang outwards, but logically straight down, drawing the cloak into an unimpressive vertical line. sigh.

All very interesting and some ideas to be digested. Not sure what people think about the Thunderwolf Cavalry. It doesn't quite do it for me - as nice as the model is. I agree there is just something too horsey about it, and speed issues aside I can't help thinking that in the SW case rider and wolf would be so much more deadly riding side by side. Like to hear the team's feelings tho. Be a total bugger to animate.
Ditto... SWs riding on wolves? Nah... seems little "elfish" to me...
I wonder if SW themselves wouldn't look on "domesticating" one of their wolves as demeaning? Would you want to "break" such a beast?
Fluff stuff, eh?

its not really breaking, its more like becomeing the pack leader by killing the present one

Lone Wolf sounds like our Wolf Scout which is good. The Cyber Hounds sound interesting - could replace the weapon servitor... but then why do they need cyber hounds when they have wolves.... The Cyber Mastiff as I recall was an Adeptus Arbites unit, and was even supposed to be part of the Witch Hunters mod.

i cant picture normal fenrisian wolves managing to run with a space wolf on his back complete with power armor and weapons- not all wolves are the size of canis's giant one however cybernetically altered they are. also does the wolves stance remind anyone of like a gryphon without wings? it doesnt look wolfish. also its chest is absolutely huge, but its hindquarters are fairly small in comparison.
You're right - it is a griffon. Also reminds me of the ork warg riders - it's all a bit odd. And do the SW really need yet another uber CC unit alongside wulfen, blood claws, wolves of fenris, wolf guard, the iron priest and his retinue etc etc etc?

Although I liked the composite bow, I felt over time it looked a little spindley for a space marine weapon - they tend to be rather chunkier. I also noted people's concern about the penetrative ability of a strung bow.
So I had an idea for a magnetic bow, which uses magnetic propulsion technology. You can see the model here, and the WS is also now sporting wolverine-like wolf claws as an upgrade.
The idea will be that the top and the bottom of the bow revolve and come together as it fires, creating the magnetic repulsion field necessary to propel the bolt with enough force to penetrate armour. This is rather more high-tech and in keeping with the other SM weapons (though of course it is a new weapon).
What do you think?

so its a bit like the bow Eza Night (is that his name? you know who i mean - the tall bugger) uses in the Gaunts Ghosts Novels....
how does he hold it?
Oh must have missed that novel - so they do have magnetic bows in the 40K. Interesting.
You can't see it from that angle, but there is a grip behind the central casing, so he will hold it exactly the same way as the normal bow, left hand extended, right holding the arrow and aligning it over the thumb. There is a slit in the central casing for the arrow to fire through, above the targeter. Will make rather more sense when it's textured I suspect
The other question is whether to keep the compound bow and have this as an upgrade to it....
