I hear London is full of strait people, so one gay city won't hurt. Sounds like the San Francisco of Britain.

Actually that's Brighton. Gay central for the sceptred isle.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Oh... uhm, yeah. I feel that gay bars present an opportunity for gays and lesbians to converse and try to pick others up without having to worry about whether the person who they're buying drinks for is gay or not.

Way to go, Canterbury! Woo!

I just don't see why the gays and lesbians marry. They both are homosexual and they would be breeding with their own species. Hmm... wow, I could have solved this problem ages ago...

Copa, generally, yeah a place to pick someone up in an environment where you are unlikely to take a punch in the face for... being yourself. Not a necessity, but a nice thing to have. Other places are getting more popular over here, because only having bars tends to lead to systemic alcoholism.

I just don't see why the gays and lesbians marry. They both are homosexual and they would be breeding with their own species. Hmm... wow, I could have solved this problem ages ago...

You mean 'sex' not species dear... unless gays were a subspecies and I missed the memo; Homo Sapiens Queericus. You'll come to know why when you grow up a bit and start filling out forms, or God forbid something happens and they don't allow any visitors in the hospital save for spouses or family. Then there is the joint filing.

And I know this may blow your mind, but some gays weren't like... totally gay, or didn't know... and have children already.

Unfortunately,yes.

And its because of the fall of communism.

In communism there was absolutely no religion,it was atheism, and IMO it was a good bit of communism

Ofcourse,I don't want to say communism is high quality stuff, but it was okay, less corrupt people IMO.

I personally can't stand extreme homophobes... the kind of religious loonies that walk up to a person and tell them that they will burn in hell for their homosexual ways. That's sure a great way to spread your faith. Even I know better.

What's even worse is the type of people who will substitute "gay" for any derogatory remark. "That's so gay." Socially competent people don't do that. In fact, I don't do that, and I'm anything but socially competent. People should show respect; it's their lifestyle, not yours, so why the heck do you need to put in your two cents about it and try to get them to HALT THEIR SINFUL WAYS?

x____Athos____

Disclaimer: I happen to be straight, and that was my two cents, so I suppose that I'm being somewhat of a hypocrite.

Amended it for you. I can't see how people can have an 'opinion on it'. It's akin to saying my opinion is that people with green eyes should get coloured contact lenses, as green is not natural. Just because your corvex is mutated doesn't mean you can keep it that way. I don't even think homosexuality is a choice in most cases, and therefore not a lifestyle option. It's just part of the person. Why would you deny a part of a person?

I personally think it's all right as long as they keep it to themselves. Extreme homophobes are the ones who can't keep their mouths shut even when nothing has been asked of them. But yes, if they say anything about it at all, I can't stand them. I guess that's not that extreme...

Stalin and Mao were harsher on gays and lesbians than Hitler was by a loooong shot.

Yea, at least Hitler gave them a chance to escape his conspicuous 'summer camps'. Stalin just shot gays from what I've heard.

It has to do with their warped philosophies. In Germany 'gay' was an issues of eugenics. Something was just a bit wrong with your breeding standard if you were queer. Something very bad if you were a nobody, but something just about ignorable if you were someone (Goring). It was a problem with a solution though, they firmly believed one could be 'scared straight'. Not to say a lot of gays and lesbians didn't die in the holocaust, they did, just not in numbers related to how much attention that's garnered.

To the hardcore Stalinist, you're a worker, a living breathing tool. Failure to use any or every part of you is a failure of you as a tool, and you are therefore worthless. Having offspring was your duty to your nation, choosing a lifestyle that didn't involve this was like you chose not to use your genitals for their purpose. It would be akin to going to your job in the mill and refusing to pick up your hammer, or going to war and refusing to use your rifle. This was a gulag-worthy no-no, couple it with the general paranoia and the stereotype of gays being a bit more affluent, artsy and generally aristocrat-like and yeah, the commies loved killin' fags.
Being a total douche.

Actually, about 10% of the world population is gay/lesbian.

It's not a fact though. Maybe of the people surveyed, there were 10% of people were gay. But that survey was probably 20% of earth's population. Statistics are stupid...
