And what will you do? You'll change the channel over to see what the weather will be like tomorrow. You'll look back and realise just how unremarkable your life is, was and ever will be. You'll wish you'd been something. Something useful, fulfilling and great. You'll think you could've, would've, should've done such a thing.

But no. You were quite happy to be Average Joe, Office Drone. And though Creative Joe might not make it big, or get anywhere with his stuff, his days weren't half as grey and beige as yours. He was creative enough to escape from the mediocrity and mundanity of his existence, if only for just a brief, fleeting while. He was able to forget that his life was every bit as shit, bland and dull as the sky above his and everyone else's head. he was able to forget how pathetic, insignificant and pointless every breath was, and escape into a world where he was the master, he was the creator, he was effectively God. And he relished that. He might not've written anything to rival Shakespeare, he might not've climbed Everest, or discovered new lands, or cured cancer, or broken any world records, but then, neither have you, Average Joe, except maybe the record on who can complete a game of solitaire fastest. At least he can say that while he was creating whatever it was he created and escaped this crapsack reality, that he'd lived.
