Well, one of us here made this song, and I'm not saying who. But this is the amazing music topic, and for Sam's sake, it will be filled with appropriate content.
So yea, guess away. Ya' moops.
Hint: wasn't me.

The obvious answer to that is Faster and Louder. =p
Peter Furler – Faster and Louder
Sarcasm aside Port Blue has been some great easy listening to. Described as being the pleasant music you would hear in an elevator I find it the best style of music while I'm studying or researching. Port Blue – Up Ship! This track is from The Airship, kinda like a tribute to the travels of the airships of old. The musician is Adam Young, who is also Owl City, here's another track. Owl City – Kamikaze

Love the sound-design of the new Mad Max trailer/teaser

It just doesn't look like a Mad Max picture... it looks like the film crew from 300 (with Nine-Inch Nails in the trunk) is taking a road trip and motor groupies from Revenge of the Titans are a bit competitive when it comes to unnecessary explosions and sepia effects. Saying that.. it still looks cool. But if they screw this up, I'll make sure George Miller never hears the end of it.
Here's a remix take from this trailer:

It has a few penny-worth moments. Not remarkable enough for prolonged listens, but quite good for a TV show's soundtrack. TV isn't known for good soundtracks, unfortunately.

Yea, GoT was the one exception I had in mind. Other than that... I don't think I have any songs that were written for TV. The Silent Comedy had one song written for the Hatfields & McCoys' trailer, but I'm not sure if that song was specifically made for the trailer. Probably not, but I really can't think of many other examples.

Had no idea Sigur Ros took part in GoT. TIL.
Also, to continue the thread of TV music, Farscape's just brings back... so many memories. Probably the best sci-fi series of all time, and my favourite TV series so far I've seen:
Shame they never made a few more series.
