I was thinking, since one of the only good things about rise of the witch-king was the new create-a-hero skins (not the cost system), is it possible to include the new clothing, armor, weapons etc into s.e.e.? i remember there was beards for wizards, hoods for elves, fountain guard helmets for men, cool easterling helmets and weapons, and a lot more.

if anything, i thought rotwk created heros look really cool. is it possible to integrate that nice rotwk CaH look into a bfme2 mod?

I moved to CaH section of Development :tongevil:

We COULD do that, but the "problem" is that offically we're not "allowed" to "legally" take stuff from RotWK and put into SEE since SEE doesn't need RotWK game to run. However, since all of these games are becoming more and more obsolete and forgotten (you can't even buy these games anymore in Sweden, except maybe RotWK)... I have used some minor things from that expansion - at my own "risk" ;p

A bigger problem is that I personally hate the CaH. It's an unbalanced and unfitting system that doesn't really feel right when playing, and as far as I'm concerned I'd like to scrap it all together.... =p

... that should be really appreciated, if you would do that. :tongevil:

Yeah :xcahik_: the problem is that it would be equally hated if I do that :tongevil:

one thing is that the rotwk create a hero sets could offer your "create-a-hero based" heroes more diversity, like i remember there was a really cool easterling helmet in the expansion that could be great for a rhun hero. shame about the legal boundaries. really though, i'm sure people have made mods for bfme2 with rotwk features

Hmmm knowing EA they probably would get all jumpy if they found out. Personally I wouldn't risk it, but it'd be a nice addition nonetheless. I myself love CAH, although I can plainly see why most people don't like it.
After all this time, I decided I'd start playing BFME 2 again; after all, it's one of the few games I keep coming back to.....even three-four years after it was made.....
Anyway, my computer has been upgraded; it's just a graphics card, but it's a HD Radeon 4870. How's that for gaming love? I can run Crysis on high at 60fps, maybe at highest (I haven't checked) and the rest of my computer is still actually pretty good; so I'm happy.

Anarchy is so stupid......see IM A REBEL!

Im a lover of footy now, and I can't wait to watch Jarryd Hayne the superhuman and Fuifui Moimoi the tongan bulldozer play in the Four Nations cup. WOOT Hindmarsh is gonna play for Australia now, even with a broken shoulder! Woot he's crazy.

I'd say most people do like it (seems like something most people would like.) But the kind of people who make and play mods (the members of this site) are the kind of people who don't like it. Thus, most people who post here don't like it.

When it comes to t3a members, for the most part (from my observations), either they are quality perfectionists who hate what EA's done (though most of their mods are less fun to play than the vanilla), or they are creative artists who like adding new stuff to the game for fun, without regard to gameplay, because something looks cool, or whatever. The latter group would like the CaH system for the mostpart.

But the fact is, people will like what they're told to like. They will believe what they are supposed to believe, which will be different in different places. In this case, whatever the makers of the big mods (RJ and SEE, probably) say they like the community will believe is best, for the most part.

Recently I've been attempting to step outside of this circle and make my own opinions, though I'm easily influenced just like most people.

I've, for quite a while, not agreed a lot with this mod, because I love the books so much and think the films pretty much butchered it. In just the last few days I've realized that it would be impossible to not butcher lotr, but still make a good film. The book just isn't compatible with the screen. So, I don't know about them doing a bad job with the movie, but I don't really respect the idea of LotR films at all. The same with LotR games. Any book is difficult to bind to the RTS genre, and LotR is no different. However, that's what EA did and that's what we're modding (which is a good thing.) Considering this, gameplay is most important to me. I will disregard that this is LotR and just have fun playing and modding the game.

As far as SEE goes, I'm still interested, though I probably won't play it 'till a later version with more balance that is more fun to play, once all the units are it.

For CaH, I think it's a fun idea in concept but I'm not sure if it's possible to make it balanced in the game.
Greetings, community.

Basically the only thing I like about CaH are the model animations and (some of) the armor and textures... We used the uruk parts for our new Uruk-hai, and perhaps we could do the same with Easterlings. At least the hero =)

Yeah, it's pretty useful for heroes and maybe units somewhat. Could come in handy if the blue wizards are added, which they probably should be, if Harad and Rhun are split.
Greetings, community.

For starters I'll see if I can get a modeler to put the easterling parts on our Rhun hero. At least the helmet - would make him stand out even more =)

there are cool CaH easterling helmets, armor, and weapons in rotwk that weren't in the original game.... they look really cool. the easterling king (or another easterling hero if rhun splits from harad) could look like this:

so the chest armor from the guy on the right
the helmet from the middle two guys (arms and legs are same as guy on right)
and the weapon in the first pic

Yeah, I honestly don't see what the point in scrapping the CaH would be, you can choose if you use it or not, so I don't think you'd really be helping anyone by scrapping it, just hurting those who do like it.
