Rhûn Wainriders

- Add our new Rhûn shields (also mae by Ed) to each side of wagon!
- Make new separate texture (map) for the wagon that I can reskin into perfection! (This one uses the "Khand tent" texture)
- Make sure we have 3 bones in the wagon, for 1 driver (static model) and two warriors in the back!
- Try to polish the rigging/binding so the meshes don't mix too much in animations (mostly the horses cloth)
- Check turning anims (they twitch upon loop?)
This is the awesome WiP anyways...

Nice model, BTW. The red makes it kinda Haradrim-looking, though.

I've been creating my own Wainrider.
Points of interest:
- It needs to come a long way from where it is now, with a lot more additions.
- And these horses are from RJ mod. I would prefer an edited model of the Dol Amroth horses (with the skirts).
- Easterling rider is is from CaH, however I have edited the helmet.
- It needs more and bigger scythes, I have a very interesting design for the front that I cannot seem to model nicely...
- It should be bigger to fit three Easterlings. This will require a new chariot model.
- Horse skull should not be floating, the Games Workshop has a horse skull somewhere there.
A Wainrider model is needed for this.

Out of curiosity, did you create that horse skull?

It was taken from a model on BlendSwap

I destructively decimated the polygons and then manually fixed errors and smoothed it out.
Out of curiosity, did you create that horse skull?
Out of curiosity I'd love to view the Wainrider you possibly created (I would like to view it eventually). =p

I see. It looks great!
I didn't create one. I sent NDC one of the old Rhovanion Alliance Haradrim chariots instead. I sent it just to have something to base his work around, but I think the model, made 10 years ago by a guy named Halbarad, still holds up. I might touch it up a little and use it for SaF.

I believe Wainriders are going to be in high demand once they have been animated properly. So I would love to make the Rhun chariot open for any T3A mod. The rider would be the main change between mods. It does, however, remain to be seen how good my creation will turn out in the end.
The Wainriders were group/s of Easterlings, and a Haradrim chariot would not be appropriate for the Wainriders. Nevertheless, Halbarad's chariot is might fine. ;p

P. S.
This is a wain. I would prefer something more like a scythed chariot. There is some serious design work to be done. =D There is concept art from WETA of the Sea of Rhun, but I wish they had explored the culture further. I've been designing an architecture style for NJM's Umbar map, and building up towards something that could be used to create an entire faction set of buildings for the Haradrim/Corsairs. The same will have to be done for Rhun (there is an armoury, fortress and barracks already), but I want to dive into designing the culture of the Wainriders now!

I think your Easterling chariot looks marvelous, Matt! As does your Umbar fortress you have in the Harad Faction subforum.
